Proving Grounds: Top Backcourt Duos (16U)

<h5>The Proving Grounds brought out a ton of talent to Tampa this past weekend. Take a look at the 16U backcourt duos from the Passion Region. </h5> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h5>Caleb Austin Jones-Dicks &amp; Ilich Yacaman - Sunshine Elite (2024)</h5> <p>Jones-Dicks was the top scorer in the 16U division when it was all said and done at the Proving Grounds with his ability to navigate the defense and make things happen on all three levels. He was impressive as each game progressed for Sunshine Elite with his ability to operate with the ball in his hands and find others, like Ilich Yacaman in space. Yacaman was quite the defensive presence and used his efforts to make things happen offensively as a driver and shooter. He uses his length well to make things happen on both ends of the floor. </p> <h5>Kaden Suber &amp; Jah Chin - SWFL Hoops Inc (2024)</h5> <p>Kaden Suber and Jah Chin were quite the backcourt tandem for SWFL Hoops Inc. as both showed their ability to get downhill and make plays by getting their respective paint touches. Suber did well to handle ball pressure and make things happen while moving without the ball in his hands and working off of Chin's abilities. Chin earned gamechanger honors after showing off his ability to get downhill and utilize his athleticism to finish in the paint. They're a duo to keep an eye on in the Passion Region.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1295936" first="Damon" last="Folds"] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id="1055585" first="Noah" last="Cutler"] - Athletes of Influence (2024)</h5> <p>Folds and Cutler were a fun backcourt duo to watch for Athletes of Influence as they do well to work off of each other as respective playmakers in their own right. They push the pace and have tremendous vision to find their teammates in space for easy layups and dunks on the backside. They're a duo that continues to impress with their ability to share the rock and distribute the ball equally. </p> <h5>Austin Howe &amp; Angelo Carver - South Florida Sonics (2024)</h5> <p>Howe was a crafty and quick shooter that did well to move without the ball and find his openings to knock down shots on the perimeter. He knocked down eight 3-pointers on the opening day of the Proving Grounds to finish a top performer. Carver is a two-way presence that uses his strong frame and quickness to make things happen on both ends of the floor. He was the leading name for the South Florida Sonics as he pushed the pace and brought the energy and set the tone with his ability to finish around the rim and operate off the bounce.</p>
