As always, there was a group of newcomers to the list. Some that recently earned there way into the rankings and some that may have belonged before that finally got their just reward. Let’s look at a few of the newcomers to the class of 2022’s prospect rankings.
Hass Abbas Hass Abbas SG Crestwood | 2022 State MI (SG, Crestwood)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #302
Abbas is a sponge for information and loves being coached, which helped pave a path onto the class of 2022 rankings. He’s a solid shooter that doesn’t rush his shot or force up looks when it isn’t there. Abbas has a nice IQ for the game and can play at any pace.
Aidan Bellisle Aidan Bellisle 6'2" | PG Menominee | 2022 State MI (PG, Menominee)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #349
Bellisle had a solid senior season and really solidified his addition to the prospect rankings with his play throughout the state playoffs. He was an excellent ball handler and table setter that knew when his team needed a bucket as well.
Logan McKenzie Logan McKenzie 6'7" | PF Byron Center | 2022 State MI (PF, Byron Center)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #274
NcKenzie will be continuing his basketball career at Trine University next season. The versatile forward was also an OK White All-Conference selection.
Jacob Recker Jacob Recker C Clare | 2022 State MI (C, Clare)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #355
Technically we have him listed as a center, but Recker can influence a game from multiple spots on the floor. He battled under the rim for rebounds and could step out and bury a triple with ease.
Nate Tucker Nate Tucker 6'5" | SF Marshall | 2022 State MI (SF, Marshall)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #190
Tucker is a prime example of a player that deserved to hit the rankings much earlier. He’s a terrific all around athlete that can attack the rim with finesse and body control, as well as shake off contact with his strength.
Jayce Warren Jayce Warren CG Bridgman | 2022 State MI (CG, Bridgman)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #363
Warren is an underrated all around athlete that, not surprisingly, is a multi sport star. He can play baseline to baseline and can hit every corner of the stat sheet, from double digit rebounds to a handful of steals.
Greg Wilkinson Greg Wilkinson 6'8" | C Fowlerville | 2022 State MI (C, Fowlerville)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #224
Wilkinson had a good old fashioned breakout season. He became a true force in the paint, learning how to use his height at 6-8 as a tool. Wilkinson became a strong finisher at the rim and a force with his length on defense.
