The 2024 class is deep and teams have joined the prep Hoops circuit at a record pace with now over 6,000 teams on the circuit. Below we take a look at 6 players who continue to get better every time I see them play. Let’s take a deeper look at this talented group:
Dylan Higgins – Cardinal Mooney – Spartans Elite – This 6’2 combo guard has a solid frame and goes hard on both ends of the court. He is a knockdown shooter that cannot be left open and can get hot in a hurry. Dylan is a fierce competitor and a key piece of what makes this Spartans group so tough. Dylan will be a name to keep an eye on as the circuit moves on with a jam packed schedule ahead.
Rico Kindred – Brooks – Heart and Hustle Elite – This 6’6 banger loves to battle in the paint and does not back down from any competition. Rico plays very physical and plays with high energy on both sides of the court. I liked watching his aggressive style of play as he does not seem to get easily rattled and is battling on every possession.
Noah Cutler Noah Cutler 5'9" | PG Charlotte | 2024 FL – Charlotte High School – Athletes of Influence – Noah had the best ball handling skills in the gym over the weekend and is a crafty combo guard who can score from anywhere on the floor. Noah averaged over 13 points per game to go along with several key assists for his team. Noah has a high motor and is relentless when he is on the floor. Noah knows how to get his teammates active on the offensive end and was a big reason why his team had a strong performance to kickoff the circuit.
Kai Mcintyre – Parkview High School (Georgia) – No Excuses Elite – This was my first time seeing this young man play and man was he impressive. Kai can stretch the defense and get it done on both ends of the court. Kai can play several different positions and uses his 6’4 frame very well. This tough squad was one of the most impressive teams I saw all weekend.
Calvin Charles – Palmetto Ridge – Florida Elite SW – Perhaps one of the most impressive players I saw over the weekend was 6’4 Calvin Charles. Calvin is a fearless players who you can pretty much put on anyone to defend. Calvin is a skilled shot blocker with a ton of athleticism. He displayed a solid basketball IQ and led his team to several key victories throughout the weekend. Calvin has a ton of upside and will be a name to keep an eye on over the summer.
Jaheem Smith – Cardinal Gibbons High School – Team Strive Elite – Jaheem is a lightning quick guard who is a strong finisher at the rim and plays with a nonstop motor. He is a solid defender and can get to his spots on offense. He moves well without the ball and displayed a solid overall game. I like his upside and his overall style of play.
