Passion Region KickOff Team Profile: Florida Elite SW 2023
Florida Elite SW 2023 squad was on a tear at the Passion Region Kickoff in Daytona Beach this past weekend. Take a look at some prospects that caught our eye for their squad.
Jervens St. Louis – 6’4 Forward/Wing
Good things typically happened when the ball came St. Louis way on the floor. He battled some foul trouble in one game but other than that, he showed off his ability to knock down shots, make plays and pick his spots to keep defenders guessing at all times possible. He put up 23 points in their opening game, knocking down three 3-pointers to set the tone for his squad on offense and didn’t look back.
Gerkobe Christopher – 6’4 Wing/Guard
Christopher is an athletic prospect that plays with a ton of energy in the Florida Elite SW backcourt. He did well to show off his ability to be a presence on the glass and as a finisher around the rim with his athleticism and length. He went off for 16 points in their first victory and 20 points in their second victory on Day 1 to show off his ability to operate as a slasher and rim-runner. His frame allows him to draw fouls at volume as well.
Jeffrey Simpson – 6’0 Guard
Simpson was a gritty guard prospect that showed off his ability to lead by example when running things for Florida Elite SW. He didn’t let up in their final game of the Passion Region KickOff as he finished with 20 points and four assists along with three made 3-pointers. As he learns to push the pace with the ball in his hands and find his shooters as the lead guard, he’ll become a much more effective threat with the ball in his hands.
Wesley Roark – 6’2 Shooting Guard (2024)
Roark was quite the shooting guard on the perimeter for Florida Elite SW as he played up in age division with the 17U squad. He didn’t show many signs of fall-off when he was looked upon to knock down shots on the perimeter. Across their four contests, he knocked down a total of five 3-pointers but he wasn’t shy about putting the ball on the floor and finishing in the paint, either. He’s a young name to keep an eye on.
Aidan Doyle – 5’11 Guard
Doyle was another guard prospect in the Florida Elite SW backcourt that showed he can get after it when given opportunities. He went off for 15 points in a back-and-forth battle with North Florida United and showed off his ability to feed the hot hand in their second victory that saw Christopher go off for 20 points. He’s a solid role player to keep eyes on with this squad.
Ghaith Fakhoury – 5’9 Guard
Fakhoury showed off what he can do as a reserve guard at the Passion Region KickOff. He knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in their second victory of the day while still holding his own in other aspects as well. He’s another guard to watch with Florida Elite SW.
