Let’s take a look at some of the 2024’s around Kansas that have a chance to get some eye brows raising this weekend who really haven’t had this type of stage yet.
Ethan Koehn Ethan Koehn 6'2" | SF Circle | 2024 State KS , 6’1 G, SSA Elite 2024 Black, Circle HS: (Pictured) A very gifted passer with impressive court vision, Koehn getting the opportunity to be more of a playmaker on the grassroots science and be surrounded by great shooters, talented forwards, and high energy teammates will allow him the platform to really show off the quality playmaking for others Koehn possesses. Was under the radar this high school season but this Live Weekend could be the stepping stone to stock rising.
Josiah Polynice Josiah Polynice 5'11" | PG Olathe South | 2024 State KS , 5’11 PG, KC Spurs, Olathe South: A tough as nails point guard with a ton of talent. Can get up and guard 94 feet, can push it with good tempo and under control, handles pressure himself well, and can get into the paint off the dribble and score it or find others to get easy shots. Polynice has the athletic ability to play both guard spots and be super effective and a ton of upside. Will be fun to watch over the live weekends.
Wyatt Lewis Wyatt Lewis 6'2" | CG Aquinas | 2024 State KS , 6’1 PG, MoKan 2024, St Thomas Aquinas: Made my most improved list for the class of 2024, Lewis has the chance to continue to grow off of the momentum from the high school season. Has gotten a ton of experience already in the back court, and the Grassroots season kicking off will give him the opportunity to get after it. High quality point guard play can be expected from Lewis with toughness, good decision making, shot making, and shot creation.
Brennon Dodge Brennon Dodge 6'1" | CG Shawnee Heights | 2024 State KS , 6′ G, SSA Elite 2024 Black, Shawnee Heights: Dodge’s shot creation off the dribble getting into the mid range has been a nice wrinkle to see in early scrimmages to go along with his elite three point shooting we saw this high school season. Putting together those two elements with his underrated passing ability and sneaky length to guard on the perimeter should get some eyes turning his way.
Michael Kates Michael Kates 5'9" | PG Maize South | 2024 State KS , 5’11 G, Team Buddy Buckets 2024 KS, Maize South: Kates got off to a sizzling start this spring last weekend, torching the nets from the perimeter and quite literally from all over the floor. His catch and shooting ability is top tier and he was getting his shots off with ease and quick. His quick burst attacking close outs as well and good handle make closing out on him quite a game to play in itself for defenders. A big live weekend for Kates could be huge for the talented and versatile guard.
Will Cravens, 6’1 Guard, Team 2024, Ellsworth: A flat out bucket getter from multiple levels. Is a microwave scoring the ball and getting going from the three point line. Will be coming off a monster weekend where he knocked down a ton of shots, showed off his athleticism as a defender both on and off the ball, and his consistent shot making and scoring in transition. Cravens is a very intriguing guard to watch through the Live Periods.
