Grind Region Kickoff 16U Saturday Standouts Part II
<p>It was a busy day of basketball in Edmond as the Grind Region begin a busy spring and summer on the Prep Hoops circuit with the Kick Off. The 16U Division was filled with talent from Oklahoma, along with out of state teams that brought a great level of competition to the tournament.</p>
<p>LaDavian King, 6’1 2025 Guard, PLUTO Prospects 2024</p>
<p>King played well throughout the day and closed out the night with a dominating performance in a big win. Earlier in the day there was the occasionally turnover or not finishing strongly at the rim. But in the night cap he was nearly flawless, hitting deep jumpers, blowing by defenders, and finishing strongly and explosively at the rim. Only a freshman, King has the look and production of a big time prospect. </p>
<p>Mason Villela, 6’2 2024 Guard, New Mexico D1</p>
<p>Super explosive, Villela was an acrobatic finisher with strength and leaping ability around the rim. While also playing strong defense with quick hands and quick feed.</p>
<p>Deshawn Fox, 6’5 Wing, Pluto Prospects 2024</p>
<p>A big and athletic wing, Fox provides a defensive presence and slashing ability with his athleticism for a talented team out of Colorado.</p>
<p>Malachi Schilreff, 6’1 Guard, Oklahoma Impact 4:13</p>
<p>The small town standout grew throughout the day, adjusting well to the level jump that comes speed and strength of travel basketball. He scored in a variety of ways, and showed great patience and understanding of how changing pace blended with strength can allow him to score tough buckets at the rim. </p>

<p>The high energy forward was a tenacious rebounder, especially on the offensive glass where his high motor and leaping ability allowed him to gobble up the rebounds. He’s also a rim protector with good shot blocking instincts. </p>
<p>John Hauserman, 6’4 Guard, Team Dream</p>
<p>Hailing from the Sunflower state, Hauserman has good size and athleticism, which he flashed in a second half dunk as Team Dream pulled away for late afternoon win on Saturday.</p>
