College Commitment: Philip Rosenfeld (2022 Beaverton)
Every step of the way, Philip Rosenfeld Philip Rosenfeld 6'6" | PF Beaverton | 2022 State OR remained patient. The lanky 6-foot-6, 190-pound forward slowly moved his way up the ladder at Beaverton High School and senior year he became a key contributor for a state tournament team. Now Rosenfeld is set on taking things to the next level as he’s made a decision to attend Linfield and make his mark onto the Wildcats basketball team as well.
“Well, my father attended and played there (at Linfield) which is cool to me,” Rosenfeld said. “I knew it was right after an academic and athletic visit. I’ve also played a couple of times with the guys and they are all super nice. Everything just felt good.”
A high-academic performer, Rosenfeld had focused his college search on the D-III level and Linfield was the best fit both on and off the basketball court. This past year with the Beavers, he was one of the key guys inside and averaged 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 53.5 percent from the field. While he operated mainly in the key at Beaverton he knows his role will change in college and is focused on improving himself for the next step up.
“I’m always working on something,” Rosenfeld said. “Right now, it’s definitely my size and explosiveness as well as my handle. At the next level I’m going to have more of a wing position and I need to have better control of the ball.”
As he prepares himself for college, Rosenfeld can look back on this past year with BHS with a lot of pride. “Very fun group and I know we surprised a lot of people,” Rosenfeld said. “Love the guys, they are nothing less than my brothers. All the younger guys have a very exciting future and I’m excited to see how they do.”
Our congratulations go out to Rosenfeld and his family on his commitment.
