Continue ReadingAs we continue with the selection of all-section teams in the 5A classification, the teams and players did not disappoint us this season. With such a competitive group of coaches/players on the court, the gyms were on fire while it was extremely cold outside. Let’s take a look at our Fab 15 of the WPIAL Class 5A – Section 3, which is a talented group of players. These fine young men were selected by the Prep Hoops Pennsylvania staff and are more than worthy of their selections to the Fab 15 of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League.

Daemar Kelly Daemar Kelly 6'3" | SF Penn Hills | 2023 State PA – Penn Hills High School
Junior – Combo Guard – An extremely skilled guard with the overall talent to score in a variety of ways during a game and exhibit strong leadership
Will Kromka Will Kromka 6'4" | SG Gateway | 2022 State PA – Gateway High School
Senior – Wing Forward – This young man has been a consistent starter for his team and produced throughout his career
Caden Smith – Franklin Regional High School
Senior – Shooting Guard – His high basketball IQ combined with a sound offensive skill set makes him tough to defend over four quarters
Jaden Dugger – Penn Hills High School
Senior – Wing Forward – He is a high flyer on the break as well as driving the baseline for slam dunks
Landon Butler Landon Butler 6'2" | CG Latrobe | 2023 State PA – Latrobe High School
Junior – Combo Guard – An above-average ballplayer with the fundamentals to be a difference-maker on the court
Kanya Thompson – McKeesport High School
Senior – Point Guard – The basketball knowledge of this performer makes him a coach on the floor for his team
Jardon Carr – Gateway High School
Junior – Shooting Guard – This lanky, quick defender uses his skills to cause havoc with deflections and steals in the half-court set and during full-court pressure
Deontae Williams – Woodland Hills High School
Senior – Shooting Guard – He likes to push the ball during the transition and finish in the lane consistently with floaters and euro-step moves
George Mitchell – Penn Hills High School
Senior – Wing Forward – His ability to slash to the basket and finish with creativity makes him a matchup problem for his opponents
Noah Barren Noah Barren 6'1" | PG Penn Hills | 2023 State PA – Penn Hills High School
Junior – Shooting Guard – A talented scorer from the perimeter and with penetration in the lane that makes his ability standout
Tavarese Rowe – McKeesport High School
Junior – Wing Forward – An athletic forward that plays above the rim and rebounds well on both ends of the floor with “big time” highlight performances
M.J. Stevenson – Gateway High School
Junior – Shooting Guard – This skilled all-around player does a little bit of everything extremely well during a contest as Gateway made a significant state playoff run this season
Isaiah Gonzalez Isaiah Gonzalez 6'2" | CG Kiski Area | 2024 State PA – Kiski Area High School
Senior – Wing Forward – He can put a good amount of pressure on the defense with his top-notch scoring ability from different positions during the half-court offense
Kaleb Pryor Kaleb Pryor 5'10" | PG Gateway | 2023 State PA – Gateway High School
Junior – Combo Guard – His quickness and talent to create opportunities for himself and his teammates are major strengths of this young man
LeBryn Smith – Area High School
Junior – Combo Guard – An athletic guard that uses his arsenal to put up big numbers offensively and defensively for his team throughout a game
