Asjon Anderson Asjon Anderson 6'0" | PG Mt. Tahoma | 2022 State WA – 6’2 PG – Silas HS
What can’t Asjon do? He led the showcase in points, assists, and highlight plays. When Asjon was playing, spectators gravitated to his court to watch the show. There’s not much that this kid can’t do and there is no doubt that after watching his showcase performance, he will play basketball at a very high level. COVID may lead to him taking a different route but the Showcase MVP and champion definitely has a long hoop career ahead of him.
Tijan Saine Tijan Saine 5'10" | PG Mariner | 2022 WA – 5’11 PG – Mariner HS
This was my first time seeing Tijan in person. I have watched live streams and seen the film but there is nothing like watching a player in person that has his passion. Tijan is good, but what set him apart from a lot of guys was his play on the defensive side. He picked up 94 feet the entire tournament and never took a defensive possession off. In addition to his defensive intensity, Tijan broke the record for points in a BDH Showcase with 45 in his first game out.
Dane Goudy – 6’0 PG – White River HS
Dane may be from a small school in a rural town, but he caught the eyes of some juco coaches. As a score-first guard, you have to be good about getting to your spots and being efficient. Dane showed off his shifty handle and improved jump shot to do just that. He was always hard to stay in front of but after showing a consistent three-point shot and two dribble pull up, he is a true college prospect.
Louis Grante-Halliday Louis Grante-Halliday 6'6" | SG Eastside Catholic | 2022 State WA – 6’7 SF – Eastside Catholic HS
A true man amongst boys in size and maturity. Luis was the most dominant “big” at the showcase. He has the skillset to operate on the perimeter and the strength to be a bully on the block. Most kids who can shoot the three at a high-level love to live behind the arc but Louis is different. Louis understands mismatches and taking what the defense gives you, not what you want. He knew the best time to spread the floor and the best time to post up. At 6’7, Louis can play three positions and he used his IQ and size to be top five in scoring and rebounding.
DaeKwon Watson DaeKwon Watson 5'10" | CG Auburn | 2022 State WA – 6’1 PG – Auburn HS
DaeKwon is one of my favorite players in the state. In today’s game, players who love to defend are hard to come by. It isn’t “cool” to play defense but DaeKwon is fun to watch on both ends. All year he showed how good he was on defense, but the showcase gave him the ability to show how elite he is on offense. On a stacked Auburn squad, he didn’t always get to show how deep his bag was but don’t be mistaken. DaeKwon can score at all three levels and can break down the best of defenders off the dribble.
