Here’s a look at some unranked 6A all-state picks:
Caden Kaberline, 6-foot-6 forward, 2022, Olathe South – 2nd team, Sports in Kansas
The first-team Sunflower league honoree is committed to Mid-America Nazarene. He was a consistent producer as a senior with 10.7 points and 7.7 boards per game.
Harrison Hughes Harrison Hughes 5'7" | PG Shawnee Mission South | 2022 KS , 5-foot-9 guard, 2022, Shawnee Mission South – 2nd team, Sports in Kansas (pictured)
A dynamic playmaker, Hughes joined Kaberline on the first team of the Sunflower League. He has a knack for making shots from anywhere, and is a flash with the ball. He put up a solid 15 points and 5.4 assists per game as a senior.
Harrison Kisling Harrison Kisling 6'2" | SG Olathe West | 2023 State KS , 6-foot-2 guard, 2023, Olathe West – 2nd team, Sports in Kansas
Kisling’s was the name that got a lot of run during the playoffs. He went crazy with 38 points in an upset of Lawrence at sub-state, then ripped Dodge City with 26 in the first round of the playoffs. He was good even against the best in the state with 11 against Wichita Heights and 12 against Free State. He is an elite shooter from deep and is athletic enough to make plays against top level athletes.
Eddie King, 6-foot-1 guard, 2022, JC Harmon – honorable mention, Sports in Kansas
King helped guide the Hawks to a really good season, and he was one of several from his team to earn honorable mention all-state. King produced more than 15 points per game and was big on the boards, leading the team with 7 rebounds per game. That effort earned him honorable mention honors.
JD Roane, 6-foot-1 guard, 2022, Blue Valley North – honorable mention, KSHSAA
Roane is an athlete who just jumps out at you. He capitalized on a big increase in playing time this year after playing a bench role for the 2021 state champs. As a senior he averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He is ultra quick and explosive, and has good size and physicality. Like King, Roane was given honorable mention recognition.
