Here’s a look at some unranked 2A all-state picks:
Dylan Cervantez, 5-foot-10 guard, 2023, Valley Falls – 1st team 2A Sports in Kansas
Cervantez has become a guy Prep Hoops is writing about a lot lately. He was a big reason for the Dragon’s run to the state semifinals, and was in the spotlight a lot late in the season. He was a playmaker on a team with several talented guards. Cervantez produced at both ends and hit the boards well for a guy his size.
Kieran Courter, 5-foot-11 guard, 2022, Atchison County – 2nd team 2A Sports in Kansas
Courter did a ton of damage at the defensive end, making 4 steals a game. He has good anticipation and a knack for intercepting passes. He’s athletic and creative, getting the ball to his teammates at a high rate. He dished out 3.5 assists per game.
Sean Hurst, 6-foot-4 forward, 2022, Yates Center – 2nd team 2A Sports in Kansas
The long, well-built multi-sport athlete was an imposing presence for a good Yates Center team. He averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds.
Derek Keith, 6-foot-3 forward, 2022, Hill City – 2nd team 2A Sports in Kansas
Keith and Trent Long Trent Long 6'5" | PF Hill City | 2023 State KS were a dominant one-two punch that led Hill City to a really successful season. Keith was good for 17 points and 7 boards.
Cade Oliver, 6-foot-2 guard, 2022, Wabaunsee – 2nd team 2A Sports in Kansas
Wabaunsee was one of the best 2A teams in the state the last two seasons, and Oliver was a big part of that success. He was a versatile guard who played on the wing a lot, slashing into the lane with the ball or catching it for shots on the perimeter or in the paint.
Easton Renn, guard, 2023, Southeast – 2nd team 2A Sports in Kansas
Renn is a long guard who gets his hands on a lot of balls at the defensive end and knows how to push the tempo once the ball is in his hands. He Was a catalyst for a really good Southeast team last season.
