In addition to the Local Game, the event will feature a 3-point shootout, a dunk contest, a girl’s game, and a National A.S game. The local game will feature players from the high school programs in Las Vegas. In this article, we take a look at the wings that will be participating in the Local Game.
Andrick Santillan Andrick Santillan 6'4" | SG Cheyenne | 2022 State NV 6’4 SG Cheyenne (#33) – The multi-skilled Santillan is part of a trio of Desert Shield players that will be participating in the local game. He will bring three-point shooting and playmaking, and the potential to put up some big numbers in the contest.
Christian Martin Christian Martin 6'2" | SG Sierra Vista | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Sierra Vista (#39) – Martin is a good 1 v 1 player that will have plenty of opportunities to attack the rack in this game. I want to see how much wiggle he plays with, as most of his attacks during the season were straight-line drives.
Desean Moreno Desean Moreno 6'4" | PF Spring Valley | 2022 State NV 6’4 SF Spring Valley (#30) (featured image) – Moreno is looking to pull off the double in Postseason All-Star events. He is coming off an MVP performance at the LV Unsigned Senior Camp and is looking to do the same in this one. His R&J athletic ability should leave a lot of jaws dropping and provide him with an opportunity to achieve back-to-back MVP honors.
Donavon Webster Donavon Webster 6'4" | SG Cheyenne | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Cheyenne (#19) – Webster is one of the top 3 and D guys, in the state. Another one of the Cheyenne seniors, he’s explosive enough to finish at the rim and skilled enough to sink open shots. He is currently getting attention from some JUCO’s.
Donte Turner Donte Turner 6'2" | SF Cimarron | 2022 State NV 6’3 SF Cimarron (#22) – Turner is a swiss army knife player that is effective playing 1 through 3. He’s coming off a season in which he helped the Spartans reach the 4A Final Four. Perhaps his best skill is his defensive versatility, as Turner has shown the ability to defend multiple positions in the past.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 SG Trinity (#10) – Johnson is a leading candidate for MVP honors of the game. The high-flying wing is a good scorer who can be a threat to explode at any time. With what he can do behind the arc, plus what he does on the break expect Johnson to have an opportunity to hoist the MVP trophy at the end.
Frank Evans Frank Evans 6'1" | SG Eldorado | 2022 State NV 6’1 CG Eldorado (#28) – Evans is a bucket getter, with the opportunity for an outburst in this one. One of the better 1 v 1 players in the game, his ability to create for himself should fit perfectly into the game’s style.
Jamir Stephens Jamir Stephens 6'1" | CG Desert Pines | 2022 State NV 6’1 CG Desert Pines (#13) – The do it all combo should have an impact in a lot of the facets of the game. Stephens is a good on-ball defender, who can quickly turn offense into defense. He’s good in transition and does a good job of recognizing when to finish vs dish.
Marquise Johnson Marquise Johnson 6'2" | SG Trinity Prep | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Trinity (#34) – Johnson is a scorer that only needs to see one go down to get hot. He’ll be fine playing at a fast tempo and will be able to quickly change the scoreboard with his outside shooting.
Ryan Abelman Ryan Abelman 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Bishop Gorman (#5) – Abelman is one of the favorites to take home MVP honors. It’s easy to see why, he’s got shooting ability, and has played with and against a ton of high-level competition throughout his career. He also has an underrated handle, that I have a sneaking suspicion will be on display in this game.
Shane Thomas Shane Thomas 6'3" | SG Durango | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Durango (#8) – Thomas is one of the best 3 and D guys on the west coast. Expect the long-armed lefty to impact the game with corner threes, and explosive dunks. The highest-ranked unsigned prospect on our board, Thomas will be a steal for someone.
Sylis Gray Sylis Gray 6'3" | SG Bonanza | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Bonanza (#20) – Gray is coming off a season where he helped Bonanza reach the #1 record. A smooth scorer, Gray can get it done off the bounce, coming off screens, or in 1 v 1 situations.
Tayan Thompson Tayan Thompson 6'4" | SF Cimarron | 2022 State NV 6’4 SF Cimarron (#18) – Thompson was the Alpha on a Cimarron squad that reached the final four. The wing scorer is accustomed to getting buckets, as he did that every night for the Spartans. A sneaky MVP pick Thompson will have a great opportunity to show off his offensive package in this one.
