The third article gives information about the Team X 17U program. These young men participated in the Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest to challenge themselves as the spring/summer moves forward with many upcoming tournaments on their AAU schedule. After talking with high school coaches, AAU coaches, college coaches, scouts, officials, and media members we here at Prep Hoops Pennsylvania have created a database of players and their AAU teams to provide information for any subscribers to our site. We do our best to promote the student-athletes that work hard on the court to achieve their goal of playing college basketball.
TEAM X 17U:
Jimmy Giannetta Jimmy Giannetta 6'0" | SG St. Joseph's | 2023 State PA / junior / 6’0 point guard / St. Joseph’s High School / This high IQ player displays strong leadership qualities on and off the court for St. Joseph’sHigh School. He puts forth the effort necessary to be successful. Jimmy has goals and looks forward to achieving them this AAU season and for his senior year of high school. 2022 Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest: Team X 17U 2022 Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest: Team X 17U / junior / 6’3 wing forward / Pine Richland High School / He can penetrate the lane from the wing and finish at the basket. The work ethic of this young man puts not only himself, but his teammates in the right positions during a contest. Josh rebounds well on the defensive side of the ball. Gage Johnston Gage Johnston 6'4" | C Apollo-Ridge | 2023 State PA / junior / 6’3 shooting guard/ Apollo Ridge High School / When it comes to lighting up the scoreboard this junior does it at an extremely high level. One of his major strengths is moving without the ball to get in spots to score. Gage shoots at a high percentage from the field every time he steps on the hardwood. Andrew Lamendola / junior / 6’2 combo guard / Pine Richland High School / Another solid player from Pine Richland shows that they will have a good team next winter. With his combined skillset on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, this young man makes life difficult for the opponent. Andrew likes to push the ball in transition and finish in the lane with and +1 combinations. Erik Wilson / junior / 6’0 shooting guard / Fox Chapel High School / A balanced performer that brings an overall dimension of fundamental skills to the hardwood each game. He has excellent ball-handling skills mixed with precision passing in both the half-court set and full-court transition. Erik is a proven floor general consistently throughout a game for his team. CarstenHansen / junior / 6’5 center / Avonworth High School / This talented big man has great footwork and can drop-step for low post baskets. His improving high post game makes him a matchup problem in the half-court set. Carsten continues to improve his game and will look to take it to another level this AAU season. Dylan Gardner / junior / 5’9 point guard / Avonworth High School / A quick guard that distributes the ball to his teammates during a game on a consistent basis. Look for him to mature and improve this spring and summer. Dylan wants to earn more playing time next season for his senior year of high school.
