There were many great single-game performances turned in this past week. In order to recap them, we’ve broken them into three categories:
Top Single-Game Performances (non-championship)
Top Championship Game Performances
Top One-and-Done Performances
Since there were so many great performances to choose from, the top five were selected based in large part on the opponent and versatility. Here are the Top Single Game Performances from 3A-1A this past week:
Philip Doebele, 6-foot-4 forward, 2022, Hanover:
Doebele gets the nod for best performance for his double-double in a semifinal victory of Bucklin. Doebele owned the paint, going 10-16 from the field and ripping down 13 rebounds. His 23 points fired the always balanced Hanover attack.
Nahcs Wahwassuck Nahcs Wahwassuck 6'5" | CG Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-5 guard, 2022, Royal Valley (pictured):
Wahwassuck had one of the highest point totals of week when he got 29 in the 3A opener against Girard. The long, athletic guard is so tough to contain without fouling, he got to the line for 14-15 in the game. He hit 6-13 from the field for 29 points while also dishing out 3 assists.
Brady Klotz Brady Klotz 6'4" | SF Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-5 forward, 2022, Royal Valley:
Wahwassuck’s teammate was big in the semifinal round, getting 21 points and 12 rebounds against Southeast of Saline. Usually a deadeye from deep, Klotz did his damage from closer in against the Trojans, hitting 7-11 from the field and 6-8 from the line. He grabbed 12 rebounds to go with his 21 points.
Brady Deges Brady Deges 5'8" | PG South Gray | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-10 guard, 2022 South Gray:
Deges gets credit for a great game against the high-quality guards of Solomon, and for his impact on the overall game. Deges is a defensive whiz and his first-half work helped the Rebels build a huge lead. He always has the ball in his hands, controlling the game at the offensive end. He finished with 21 points and 5 assists.
Eli Sawyers Eli Sawyers 6'7" | SF Southeast Of Saline | 2023 State KS , 6-foot-5 forward, 2023, Southeast of Saline:
Sawyers is a versatile, patient team player, so he doesn’t always rack up huge stats. But he is impactful in many ways. He ripped Osage City for 22 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in an opening round win.
Here are some other single game performances of note:
Zac Evans, 6-foot guard, 2024, Valley Falls: 28 points vs. Pittsburg-Colgan
