We dropped 2022-2025 rankings. We are updating them, now that the post-season is over. Lots of movement of those that were already in the rankings. Lots of newcomers of players we never had seen until the playoffs. Who should we be looking into…drop names and film. #PrepHoopsAL

Ian Senn 6’3 SG/PG Arrington 2024
Senn is an explosive shooting guard who has all the potential to develop into a D1 prospect. His elite athleticism and skill set give him a solid foundation to build upon. Offensively Senn thrives as an attacking two-guard that thrives at getting downhill and attacking the paint. His quickness, rapid first step, and vertical explosion make him one of the harder covers in the state. As a wing, he can provide spacing with solid shooting off the catch and is crafty enough to create his shot off the bounce, especially when he gets to his stepback. Senn is also dynamic in pick and roll as shot creator and distributor, allowing him to be a catalyst on offense. Defensively Senn uses his athleticism to disrupt passing lanes and make chase-down blocks in transition.

Miles Gilbert 6’5 SG/SF Briarwood Christian HS 2023
Gilbert is an athletic all-around off guard who can affect the game on both ends of the floor. As a scorer, Gilbert can dominate the game with his ability to get to the rim. He can finish effectively with both hands, power through contact, convert acrobatic layups to avoid shot blockers, and navigate the paint with various moves. As a shooter, he shows great touch in the mid-range and can hit shots from deep off the catch. Gilbert also can be a playmaker from the wing and shows good instinct when finding open teammates. As a defender, he takes on the challenge. He shows solid lateral quickness, swift hands, and uncanny skill to generate blocks and steals from the weakside.

Justin Allen 5’11 PG American Christian Acd. 2024
Allen is a dynamic point guard that is an inside-out scorer. As a shooter, he’s solid off the catch and can space a floor as a stationary shooter. Allen is also very dangerous in fastbreak when trailing or running to the corner to expose number advantages. In the halfcourt, he’s a crafty ball-handler with excellent acceleration who can create dribble penetration and operate as a slasher. In addition, Allen shows a nice touch on his floater, the ability to finish with hop gathers and inside hand layups.
Patten Curington 6’4 PF/C Northridge 2023
Curington is a highly skilled four that can be productive offensively. He has one of the better post games in the state and has enough skill, footwork, and touch to have an offense run through him on the block. He can finish with both hands, turn over each shoulder, and has counters to keep defenders off balance. Also, Currington’s vision as a passer enables him to be a playmaker out of the post and find cutters and open looks on the perimeter. When working from the outside, Curington can consistently knock down shots from the deep, making him a sufficient inside-outside scorer. When he grabs boards, he can take it coast to coast or make plays for others with a solid handles and accurate passing for his position.
Canaan Clay Canaan Clay 6'2" | CG Phil Campbell | 2023 State AL 6’2 SG/SF Phil Cambel Hs. 2023
Clay is a floor-spacing guard who can thrive in any offense due to his shooting, IQ, and versatility. As a shooter, Clay is ultra-efficient from the three-point area. Specifically, from the deep corner is where he can do his damage and optimize spacing for the rest of the offensive. Clay is also a marksman on transition threes and can light you up if he isn’t accounted for. In the halfcourt, he’s very effective at being a roll man at P&R, where he can finish with touch or play the through contact. Though he’s a good shooter, Clay’s number 1 skill has to be his IQ. He’s constantly moving without the ball, relocating to open space, setting screens, and working within the offense. This makes him a great complimentary player to more ball-dominant players.
