Qasim Boyd 2024 6’0 Dickinson High School
Qasim is a high energy guard who plays hard on both ends of the floor. He is great at moving his feet and staying in front of high level guards. He was not afraid to press them in the full court and was a smart trapping help defender on the sidelines and the wings. He has great body control when attacking downhill and getting to the rim. He has really long arms for his size and age, which should be a good indication he is not done growing. However what I love most about him as a prospect has to be the intensity and energy he brings to the floor. As he begins to mature and take over the minutes that his seniors have had this season, I fully expect him to have a real break out season next year. He is already starting in playoff games and put up a real fight when they lost in the third round to a Shadow Creek team that boast two division one seniors.
Martez James Martez James 6'5" | SF College Park | 2024 State TX 2024 6’4 College Park High School
Martez is an impressive wing at the wing position and is a switchable defender who can easily guard positions 1-4. With his ability to protect the paint and force his opponents to be uncomfortable, he dominates smaller defenders and has the strength and length to defend larger forwards. He comes up with a plethora of blocks and steals to help jumpstart his team on the other end. He is a consistent scorer in the paint for his age and looks to be an interesting prospect to watch as he grows and goes throw this playoff run. I would like to see him work on his ability on to dominate with a live dribble and work on his game in transition. With his size and agility he can easily become a force to be reckoned with on the break. College Park High School beat Eisenhower High School in the first round, but eventually lost to Cypress Falls in the second.
Jeremiah Parquet 6’4 2024 Grand Oaks High School
Jeremiah is an aware wing who always seems to be in the right spot at the right time on defense. He has long arms that have a knack for poking the ball free from his defenders as they go up for shots around the rim. He always slides over at the right angle to take away a pass to his man while coming over to help. I would like to see him get more aggressive on the offensive end. He is clearly a smart basketball player and knows where to attack on defense, I feel like it is only a matter of time before he puts it together on both ends of the floor. Grand Oaks High School lost to Aldine Nimitz High School in the first round.
Jake Holland 2024 Cypress Ridge High School
Jake is a sniper from around the arc and his shot making ability is very impressive for a sophomore. He is fearless from any spot on the floor and knows he makes shots at a high clip. He can pull up on the break when the time is right and the defense is packing the paint, or run without the basketball off screens to set up in the corners. He has a quick release and is great at getting shots up right after he catches the ball. He is great at manipulating the defense with his passing and threat to shoot the basketball. Cypress Ridge really moves the ball around and works to get the best shot possible and Holland is a great piece in that offense.
