Southwest KickOff Saturday AM Standouts

The PrepHoops Next Circuit kicked off this weekend with its first stop in Oklahoma City at the Solid Rock Basketball complex. Take a look at some early AM standouts from the event.

Missouri Crush 2027 and Trae Young 3SSB 2027 got out to a quick start to the tournament with early victories in pool play in the 13U division.

Chauncey Cravens III — Trae Young 3SSB 

Chauncey had himself a solid morning and was scoring at will. He finished with 20 points in the 90-30 blowout victory and scored both inside and out. He moves well and is a crafty finisher with extreme confidence.

Jacques Mitchell — Trae Young 3SSB 

Mitchell scored 17 points and also did whatever he wanted on the floor. He plays well alongside Cravens, plays off of the ball and can shoot it. He had a few fastbreak points and they are a duo to watch moving forward.

Sylijah Davis — Missouri Crush

Davis finished with 10 points and three made 3s. Him shooting it from deep forced the defense to try and put more bodies on him in which he then showcased his ability to make plays for others.

Blair Abraham — Missouri Crush 

Abraham showed off his length in the paint and used his size. TeamTyanBennett was outmatched from the opening tip as Abraham controlled the paint and altered shots defensively.

Chase Branham — Missouri Crush 

Branham was the point guard and it is known that the Crush goes as he goes. He ran the show, set teammates up for easy baskets and shows off a high IQ. When the trio is all going, it is because he is putting them in great spots and they are capitalizing. This was a fun team to watch.

Josiah Rose — AKR Texas Summitt/Vols Elite

AKR Texas Summitt/Vols Elite showed their ability to battle in a 62-56 victory over Woodz Elite. The player that stood out is Rose as he showed his ability to score at all three levels as he led the way for them with 20 points. He gives you a bit of everything and is a naturally gifted scorer.

Parker Tune — Kings Basketball 323 2027 

Kings Basketball 323 2027 defeated PSB El Paso Texas 61-46.  Tune led the way for the Kings as he finished with 18 points and was pivotal in their furious comeback early on in the game. He did not quit, made good plays happen with the ball in his hands and his teammates fed him.

13U

In 13U, Jonathan Lungene put folks on notice with his 18 points over Burner U to show off his ability to get to the rim and make things happen. He can catch fire at any time.

Carlos Rojas and Jacob Villalobos were impressive in leading their squad to a victory over Tulsa Hawks in early pool play. Rojas showed his stroke on the perimeter while Villalobos set the tone with his ability to get to the rim and defend.

In the final games of the AM, Jake “Chip” Pope set the day off with 25 points, showing off his ability to make plays for Champion Skills Academy Elite 2027. He showed off his ability to score on all three levels.
