Continue ReadingAs the Class of 2024 Prep Hoops Pennsylvania Rankings update went live this week, the quality of young players in this sophomore class continued to grow this high school season. For some of their development from ninth grade (freshmen teams) or junior varsity teams was a positive experience, while others last season matriculated to major varsity minutes during the four months this winter. These stock risers in our rankings made significant movement from the fall update and they will look to continue striving forward as the summer rankings update is ahead on the radar.
Stock Risers (2024):
Peter Kramer Peter Kramer 6'4" | SG Hampton | 2024 State PA , a 6’4 shooting guard from Shady Side Academy, rose extremely high in the rankings with an excellent performance in the WPIAL playoffs. This young man has the smoothness and fundamental skillset to become one of the top players in the WPIAL in his next two years. Peter will have many college coaches “beating down his door” very soon thanks to his great play this high school season.
Terek Crosby Terek Crosby 6'2" | SG Yough | 2024 State PA , a 6’2 wing forward from Yough High School took over a variety of games during this high school season and showed strong leadership. He is a quick, lanky defender that causes havoc with steals and deflections for his team. Terek can put up points in bunches during a contest and always wants the ball in his hands at crunch time.
Elijah Guillory Elijah Guillory 6'4" | PF Moon Area | 2024 State PA , a 6’4 wing forward from Moon Area High School burst on the scene will an all-around skillset proving he belongs rated high in our rankings this winter. An ever-developing sophomore, look for this talented performer to take his game to another level next winter. Elijah is extremely athletic and will provide the necessary effort on the floor to achieve success.
Virgil Hall Virgil Hall 6'9" | C Imani Christian Academy | 2024 State PA , a 6’9 center from Imani Christian Academy surprised many experts with his extremely improved play this season. This tall, strong player has raised eyebrows with his newly found shot-blocking ability mixed with his excellent rebounding skills. Virgil will be on the radar from a variety of division 1 and 2 coaches if he continues to develop at a high level this spring and summer on the AAU circuit.
Jake Wolfe Jake Wolfe 5'10" | PG Montour | 2024 State PA , a 5’11 shooting guard from Montour High School became a starter halfway through section play and proved he belonged on the court. A skilled shooter from a long distance can “light up” the scoreboard during a game. Jake also possesses a high basketball IQ which helps him develop as a young leader on the court.
Cam Mills Cam Mills 6'3" | SG Peters Township | 2024 State PA , a 6’1 shooting guard from Peters Township High School developed into his own this winter due to hard work and showing he deserved every opportunity. This quality performer broke into the lineup with his solid and consistent play during the year. Cam works hard on many aspects of his game and does extremely well on both ends of the floor.
Major Rainey Major Rainey 6'3" | SG Allderdice | 2024 State PA , a 6’2 wing forward from Allderdice High School continued to bring the intensity and work ethic to the locker room and court every night. His athleticism separates him from many opponents in the transition while making him a force on the defensive end as well. Major will continue to mature and develop into a top player as the off-season moves forward this summer.
