*Highlighted Game That Will Appear in Another Article is Aquinas/Highland Park
Kaeden Bonner Kaeden Bonner 6'1" | SG Seaman | 2023 State KS , 6’1 G, 2023, Seaman: The junior guard played with a purpose last night in Seaman’s upset win over Maize South. Bonner played with a next level pace that I hadn’t seen in a while and was very decisive in his shot selection and movement. Shoed off the range and drilled some long balls, attacked closeouts, and put some pressure at the rim in transition. Lit up the scoreboard with some big time shots and scoring. He stepped his game up last night in a primetime performance. He drilled 5 threes in the contest.
Ty Henry Ty Henry 6'3" | SG Seaman | 2022 State KS , 6’4 G, 2022, Seaman (Pictured): Henry making a late season sock rising run here which included last night as well. The long guard also was a matchup problem all night against South, cut well, had his jump shot going, and his length was a problem all night for the defense. Scored 18 in the ball game that feature a ton of his shot making and paint scoring ability.
Jarin Sanders, 5’10 PG, 2022, Shawnee Heights: Heights picked up a big win in sub state over a tough Mill Valley team and Sanders point guard play was one of the staples. Surrounded by great shooters, Sanders controlled tempo, attacked gaps, and made great reads on finding those guys for great opportunities. Finished with 7 assists in the ball game. Sanders defense was also a difference, he is quick with a knack for getting to the ball and had 3 steals as well.
Brennon Dodge Brennon Dodge 6'1" | CG Shawnee Heights | 2024 State KS , 6’ G, 2024, Shawnee Heights: The sharpshooting guard provided gravity pulling shooting ability in last nights game and his ability to move without the ball off screens gets himself great opportunities and opens up things for his teammates as well. Dodge’s shooting ability and space creating will continue to be an X-Factor for Heights.
Avery Gatzemeyer Avery Gatzemeyer 6'1" | PG Valley Falls | 2022 State KS , 6’ G, 2022, Valley Falls: Sent a message early on this sub state dropping 23 last night and reaching 1,000 career points in the process. Gatzemeyer knocked down good shots all throughout the night and Fall’s fast pace benefits him well as he played and plays with great tempos and thrives in transition. His poise and aggressiveness was on full display last night. A strong guard both off the ball and with the ball. Last night he also hit a couple of tough shots and floaters off the bounce against tough pressure.
Jeron Askren Jeron Askren 6'3" | SG Maize South | 2024 State KS , 6’4 W, 2024, Maize South: Askren flashed in their loss last night with his zone busting ability knocking down the three ball off the catch. He has good length and size on the perimeter and still has time to grow physically and his game. But Askren looked poised last night, defended well, and knocked down some shots.
