Non-Public A and B just had their finals yesterday with players having standout performances. Here’s the players who stood out the most during the Non-Public finals.
Jadin Collins Jadin Collins 6'1" | PG Rutgers Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Rutgers Prep 2023
Collins was unstoppable in the second half for the Argonauts as he powered them to their first sectional title in school history. The 6’0 guard finished in a variety of ways around the rim, as he is one of the top finishers in the state. Collins was able to get to his spot in the half court as he used his quickness and handle to get by his defender. He drew contact with consistency and was able to get steals on the defensive end. Collins has been on a scoring tear for Rutgers Prep as he has eclipsed 30 points in his last two games, leading the Argonauts to the 2021-22 Non-Public A title.
Deuce Jones Deuce Jones 6'1" | PG College Achieve | 2024 State #221 Nation NJ , 6’0 PG Trenton Catholic 2024
Jones was electric for the Iron Mikes as he led them to their first sectional title since 2010. The 6’0 guard was a blur in the open floor as he used his speed to create opportunities for his team in transition. Jones was able to get into the lane with consistency and has a nice touch on his floater. He shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc and played tough on-ball defense. Jones is a talented guard prospect who is just scratching the surface of his potential.
Isaac Hester Isaac Hester 6'0" | PG Ranney School | 2023 State NJ , 6’0 PG Ranney 2023
Hester had a huge game for Ranney as he had a game-high 28 points. The 6’0 guard was aggressive from the start as he attacked the basket strong and was unafraid of drawing contact. Hester shot the ball with confidence from distance as he knocked down triples off the catch and off the bounce. He moved well off the ball and fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Hester is a scoring guard who had a big postseason for the Panthers this season.
Gio Panzini Gio Panzini 6'5" | SF St. Rose | 2024 State NJ , 6’4 SF Red Bank Catholic 2024
Panzini had a big game for the Caseys as he made plays for them at both ends. The 6’4 wing had an emphatic two-handed slam in the second half, which energized the crowd. Panzini attacked the basket hard and was able to finish through contact. He altered shots around the basket and moved well off the ball. Panzini is an athletic wing prospect who should only get better as his varsity career progresses.
Eric Oliver-Bush, 6’3 SG Trenton Catholic 2023
Oliver-Bush was the unsung hero for the Iron Mikes as he was making an impact at both ends of the floor. The 6’3 wing finished nicely around the basket, including a big two-handed jam at the end of the game to cap off Trenton Catholic’s victory. Oliver-Bush fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor, helping create second chance opportunities for his team. He made plays on the defensive end and showed the ability to defend multiple positions. Oliver-Bush is a versatile wing prospect who should continue to be a big part of Trenton Catholic’s success this season.
