The high school season provided us with an opportunity to go deep and evaluate prospects of all levels. Several players used the season as an opportunity to raise their profile. In this article, we breakdown some of the top stockrisers in the class.
David Nealy David Nealy 6'2" | SG Stranahan | 2026 #27 Nation FL 6’3 CG Bishop Gorman 5↑2 (featured image) – It was his defense that changed my overall opinion of Richardson. He showed that he has the speed, quickness, and athleticism to dominate the game on the defensive end. He’s able to turn defense into offense instantly, using active hands to create deflections. His R&J athleticism allows him to turn those deflections into highlights at the other end. Behind a solid sophomore season, he rose to number 2 in the rankings.
Pharaoh Compton Pharaoh Compton 6'7" | PF Arbor View | 2024 State #74 Nation NV 6’6 PF Spring Valley 9↑7 – Compton was perhaps the most dominant player in the 4A division. The lefty was a force cleaning the glass, and protecting the rim. When Compton was able to run rim to rim, catch, and finish, Spring Valley was virtually unstoppable. A high flyer, you can catch Compton hanging off rims on a nightly basis throughout the season. He has a ton of upside. If the Sophmore big can increase his free throw shooting, and develop a consistent back to the basket move, watch out.
Kaeden Castillero Kaeden Castillero 6'0" | SG Liberty | 2024 State NV 5’11 SG Liberty 26↑11 – Castillero was probably ranked too low, to begin with. He’s going to shoot up after a remarkable season, in which he helped his team take home the 5A crown. He wasn’t the top scorer for his club, however, his floor spacing was invaluable. The junior sniper was money from the corners, and he forced opponents to make a choice between playing 1 v 1 in the post or staying attached to Castillero. When opponents choose the former, he usually made them pay.
Isaac Allen Isaac Allen 6'3" | SF Clover | 2024 State SC 6’2 SF Durango 30↑28 – I was only able to watch Allen on JV this season, however, the high flying forward made his presence known. Allen is one of the top out of area rebounders in the state, impacting games with sheer energy and a quick second jump. Allen was able to use that athleticism to get out and finish in transition as well. He was one of the rare JV players dunking in games, finishing with thunderous dunks on the breaks, and catching lobs around the rim.
Quentin Rhymes Quentin Rhymes 6'7" | SF Bella Vista Prep | 2024 State AZ 6’5 SG Bishop Gorman 39↑37 – Rymes is a player with a lot of tools. He has good size for his position and is able to smoothly play the wing. It’s easy to see how someone would get intrigued as he has a good wiggle, along with solid 1 v 1 skills to go along with the aforementioned size. He rose in the rankings, primarily because of his performance playing on JV for one of the most dominant programs in the nation. Rymes is a player whose stock could continue to rise, simply by contributing next season for the Gaels.
