Woods Cross High School
6’7 C Nick Hogan || Woods cross high School || 2022 ||
In the last two games where Nick has had to play against solid bigs he has come up huge as he is strong and he knows hw to hold his own. Matched up well against Stoddard and Davies and now he gets Wistrcill. He will need to have a double-double type performance to match his counterpart and he doesn’t have to have plays called for him as he often does the little things to get on the board. Offensive rebounding ill be key and Nick could lead the way for his team to get extra shots.
6’2 G Zach Delange Zach Delange 6'2" | CG Woods Cross | 2022 State UT || Woods Cross high School || 2022 ||
Zach can stretch the floor a bit but he is really good with a clear-out as he attacks the rim well. Zach will need to get in double figures as this game might be a high pace game and they will need all of what Zach can provide. If he can get by players and create some easy dump downs to Nick he will be very effective.
Woods Cross does have a lot of players that see the floor that do not produce a lot offensively but they play defense and step in and take charges.
Key Players
6’3 G Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT || Woods Cross High School || 2023 ||
The question will be is who will they but on Mason. If the put size on him he might be able to take advantage of his foot speed and savvy skill going to the rim. Mason will need 20+ in this one.
6’1 PG Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT || Woods Cross High School ||
Probably the biggest surprise player in all of 5A. Not because he dunks, not because he is a top scorer but simply because he plays the game right and finds different ways to be effective. Jaxon just needs one more big game to pull off another upset win.
Olympus High School
6’5 SF Anthony Olsen || Olympus High School || 2022 ||
This kid is a big piece of what Olympus does. He is gritty and is physical. I could see Olympus putting him on Mason to rattle him and use a more physical style of play on him to keep him off the board. Anthony can move his feet and stay in-front and he if he does get beat he has help from another big waiting in the paint.
5’11 G Luke Lowe Luke Lowe 5'10" | CG Olympus | 2022 State UT || Olympus High School || 2022 ||
Luke will likely guard Jaxon at first but if they can keep Jordan and Dutch off of Smith Luke has done his job.
Key Players
6’2 PG Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT || Olympus High School || 2024 ||
If Jordan is allowed to simply pick the defense a part it is going to be a long night.This kid is too good to not pressure and get the ball out of his hands.
6’5 SG
Dutch Dowdell

Shooters shoot and Dutch might be in a shooter friendly gym at BYU. Look for him to go off.
6’9 C Jack Wistrcill Jack Wistrcill 6'8" | PF Olympus | 2022 State UT || Olympus High School || 2022 ||
Jack has one more player in his way to a possible 5A Tournament MVP and 5A player of the year. This kid is good and he has done it against every defense that has been thrown at him.
