The First Round is Saturday March 5th, the Quarterfinals are Wednesday March 9th, the Semifinals are Friday March 11th and the Championship games are Saturday March 12th.
#1 Socorro vs #16 Tucumcari
Socorro comes into this years tournament as the #1 overall seed in the boys 3A bracket. They finished the regular season with an impressive 20-5 record and district champs going 6-0 in district play. This roster was led by senior Adadrian Jackson Adadrian Jackson 5'9" | CG Socorro | 2022 State NM who averaged 24.9 points per game and 8.6 rebounds this season. Warren Chewiwi was the teams second leading scorer averaging 10.1 points per game. Tucumcari secured the 16th seed in this tournament after finishing 8-16 in the regular season. They were led by senior Andrew Henderson-Clark who averaged 19.1 points per game this season.
#8 Crownpoint vs #9 Santa Fe Prep
Crownpoint went 21-7 this season and came in 2nd in district play after going 10-2 vs their respective district. This team has depth on its roster and several scoring options that can make them a threat to win it all this season. Tyrell Archie is the teams leading scorer averaging 16.8 points per game, Taye Harvey is averaging 13.3 points per game and Kordell Mcmillan is averaging 10.9 points per game. Santa Fe Prep finished 14-11 this season and competed in one of the toughest districts in the 3A Class. This team is lead by seniors Finn Coles, Josh Abeyta, Malachi Prevatt, Hugh Browning and Harry Browning. This team has much experience for this years state tournament.
#5 Navajo Prep vs #12 West Las Vegas
Navajo Prep won their district title going 17-8 in the regular season and went 11-1 in district play and was rewarded the 5th seed in this years tournament. This team was led by their duo Dontrelle Denesto who averaged 15.6 points per game and Jude Thomas who averaged 12.7 points per game this season. They will be a tough matchup for any team in this years tournament. West Las Vegas finished 10-16 this season and secured the 12th seed. They also were led by their scoring duo, Damien Gallegos averaged 15.0 points per game and P.J Montano who averaged 13.3 points per game.
#4 St. Michael’s vs #13 Tohatchi
St. Michael’s finished the regular season with a 13-14 record but was rewarded the 4th overall seed by participating in a tough district and the way they competed in district play. They finished 3rd in district with a 7-3 record. They were led by team captains Derek Martinez, Devin Flores and Lucas Coriz. Tohatchi finished the regular season 13-15 and locked the 13th seed in this years tournament. They were led by their seniors Melvin Scott Jr., Blane Long, Wyatt Chischilly and Jordan Begay.
#3 Sandia Prep vs #14 Cottonwood Classical Prep
Sandia Prep started the season off slow, but got hot toward the end of the season by going 8-0 in district play to win their district title and secure the #3 seed. They finished 14-11 this season and are getting hot at the right time. They are led by Jaxon Feit Jaxon Feit 6'3" | SG Sandia Prep | 2023 State NM who is one of the top rated players in the state and by team captain Mac Manzanares. Cottonwood Classical Prep went 9-14 in the regular season and finished 3rd in their district to secure the 14th seed. They are led by their leading scorer Kaedon Petties who’s averaging 12.5 points per game this season.
#6 Raton vs #11 Santa Fe Indian
Raton is one of the biggest team under the radar in this years 3A tournament. They had a solid regular season going 16-8 and finished 2nd in district behind #2 seed Robertson. They were led by their scoring duo Matthew Quartieri and Dylan Quartieri. Matthew averaged 12.4 points per game and Dylan averaged 11.6 points per game. They will be a tough matchup for Santa Fe Indian. Santa Fe Indian finished the regular season 9-15 and this years 11th seed. They were led by seniors Russell Coriz, Fenyx Morning Dove, Marlo Gachupin, Ezra James and Leighton Galvan.
#7 Bosque vs #10 Hot Springs
Bosque went 17-8 in the regular season and 6-2 in district play to finish district in second place. They are one of the few teams in this years tournament that can win the state championship. They are led by their two seniors Anthony Sanchez and Everett Jenkins. This is a young team that can make a run this year. Hot Springs finished 16-13 this season and secured the 10th seed in this years tournament. They were led by Randin Gossett, Gavin Mcclintock, Colton Montoya and Dylan Simpson.
#2 Robertson vs #15 Dexter
Robertson finshed the regular season with an impressive 19-6 record and won their district title by going 9-1 in district play. They were led by senior Matthew Gonzales who is one of the top scorers in the state averaging 26.0 points per game this season. Robertson is one of the favorites to win the 3A Boys State Championship this season. Dexter finished the season at 6-13 and were led by Jorge Najera, Jose Jimenez, Eric Brock, and Edgar Lopez.
