JayQuan Briggs JayQuan Briggs 6'2" | CG Paterson Kennedy | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 CG Paterson Kennedy
Briggs had a strong season for the Knights, resulting in a 38-spot jump in the rankings. The 6’2 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a strong finisher and does not mind drawing contact. Briggs is a play-maker once he gets into the lane as he can dish to his open teammates or score in the mid-range. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and plays with quick hands on the defensive end. Briggs is a two-way guard prospect who made plays for Paterson Kennedy all season long.
Sheick Samoura Sheick Samoura 6'5" | SF Peddie | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 SF Peddie
Samoura saw his name take a big jump in the rankings as he went up 37 spots in the update. The 6’5 wing has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish strong around the rim. Samoura is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He is a solid passer and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Samoura is a versatile wing prospect who did a little bit of everything for Peddie this year.
Christian Talavera Christian Talavera 6'0" | PG Caldwell | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG Caldwell
Talavera had a big season for Caldwell, which saw his stock jump 36 spots. The 6’0 guard is a sniper from distance as he has a quick release on his jumper and can bury triples in bunches. Talavera moves well off the ball, creating open layups and shots for himself. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and is an underrated defender. Talavera is a sharp-shooting guard prospect who had a strong senior season for Caldwell in 2021-22.
Nacier Kirksey Nacier Kirksey 6'0" | PG West Side | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG West Side
Kirksey made an impact in his debut season for the Rough Riders as he moved up 33 spots. The Shabazz transfer has a tight handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish nicely around the basket. Kirksey is unafraid of taking big shots as he shoots the ball with confidence and has a nice shooting form. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and plays with quick hands on the defensive end. Kirksey has been lighting up the stat sheet all season for West Side as the Rough Riders look to take home a sectional title.
Nick Koch Nick Koch 6'1" | PG Don Bosco Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’1 PG Don Bosco Prep
Koch has been making plays all season for the Ironmen, which ended up in him moving up 33 spots. The 6’1 floor general uses his handle effectively as he is able to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Koch makes good passes in the half court and is unfazed by on-ball pressure. He slides his feet on the defensive end and knows how to get his hands on loose balls. Koch is a hard-working guard prospect who has been a big part of Don Bosco Prep’s success this season.
