#61 CJ Highsmith CJ Highsmith 6'11" | C Richmond Christian | 2022 State VA | 6’11” C | Richmond Christian (Previous Rank: #95)
Highsmith is the type of player you love as a scout, because the first time that I watched him as a sophomore a few years ago I said if he ever develops with his size he’ll be very intriguing, and he looks like a totally different player now than he did back then. The 6’11” big man runs the floor well and is very mobile for his size, he gets off his feet well to finish above the rim and block shots on the defensive end and his hands and touch at the rim and out to 15 feet have continued to improve as well as his timing making him much more efficient and productive on the offensive end.
#62 Peter Oduro Peter Oduro 6'7" | PF VA Academy | 2022 State VA | 6’7” PF | VA Academy (Previous Rank: #83)
Oduro, whose brother is a star at George Mason, didn’t have the same intrigue when he was young, but the way that he has developed and continued to improve is very intriguing as he moves toward the next level and could be an absolute steal in the next few years. He’s a tough kid who likes contact and will do the dirty work, he’s mobile and runs the floor and is an athletic finisher at and above the rim and he has huge upside defensively with his switch ability.
#68 Michael Cooper Michael Cooper 6'3" | SF Woodbridge | 2022 State VA | 6’3” SF | Woodbridge (Previous Rank: #89)
Cooper is the type of player that coaches love as he’s a natural x-factor with his high motor and two way impact when he’s on the floor, and he has continued to improve and be a dominant player in ways that show up on the stat sheet and ways that don’t. He’s long and a good athlete who can run the floor and finish at and above the rim, he can score it from all three levels and play on and off the bounce and even as the best player on his team he is willing and loves to take the assignment of guarding the other team’s best player.
#69 Kyle Honore Kyle Honore 5'10" | PG Potomac | 2022 State VA | 5’10” PG | Potomac (Previous Rank: #92)
It’s safe to say that we slept on Honore for too long, and it makes no sense as he’s a four year starter for his father Keith Honore who’s a legendary coach in the NOVA area and his brother Keijon was a star at Potomac and went on to a stellar career at Virginia Wesleyan before joining the coaching staff, and Kyle has shown over time that he has the same it factor as a winner and a playmaker. He isn’t the biggest guy but he competes and is highly skilled on both ends of the floor, he has a great IQ and is a natural leader and he puts up big numbers as a scorer and playmaker while also leading a winning team every year he’s been there.
#72 Ashton Pratt Ashton Pratt 6'0" | CG Hayfield | 2022 State VA | 6’2” CG | Hayfield (Previous Rank: #97)
The senior leader and x-factor on a Hayfield team that is undefeated and one of the favorites to win the Class 6 state championship, Pratt can do a little bit of everything depending on the day and what it takes to help his team win. At 6’2” he has a strong frame and can play on or off the basketball, he’s a knock down shooter from deep and is excellent in the midrange and he’s willing to rebound and defend and play within the system still.
