Jesse Peart Jesse Peart 6'4" | CG Boerne-Champion | 2022 State TX 2022 6’4 Champion High School
Jesse was a standout point guard for his team for his ability to score at all three levels, create for his teammates and leading his team. His aggressiveness seemed to spark his teammates whenever he would attack the rim or get a tough bucket in the midrange. He is truly what makes this team go, and he has a bunch of talent to play off of him due to his unselfishness. He got to his spots in the midrange and beyond the arc with a live dribble and confidently rose up over defenders and scored at a high clip. He is aggressive and loves getting downhill and forcing the defense to collapse. His ability to fire cross court passes to his open teammates lead his team to a strong quarter finals appearance. Boerne Champion has a real shot of making a difference in the playoffs and I am excited to see what kind of run they go on!
Trey Thompson 2022 6’1 Reagan High School
Trey is a special two way combo guard who was one of the main reason’s Reagan was able to make the championship game. He effected the game in a plethora of ways, whether he was getting steals and going coast to coast, setting up his back court running mate Jackson Adams (2022) for open looks or getting to his shot beyond the arc or in the mid-range. He is a crafty finisher at the rim and knows how to contort his body to avoid contact. He has a nice touch floater that he can get over taller defenders. Thompson was a very impressive player at the tournament and I am excited to see how far Reagan can go with this special senior back court they have.
Jaylen Corcker – Johnson 2023 6’7 Warren High School
Jaylen is an impressive player who knows how to use his size and strength to his advantage. He dominates in the paint on both ends of the floor and has an impressive amount of agility for his size. I was blown away by his ability to run the floor as a rim runner or as the primary ball handler. He dominates getting downhill and can seemingly bully his way through any contact. He has an ability to play with another skilled big man due to his ability to dominate at all three levels. He consistently made the right reads every time down the floor. He scored at a consistent rate in the mid-range and beyond the arc which allowed the paint to be that much more open for him to dominate later in the game. Corcker- Johnson finished as the fourth highest scoring player per game in the 2021 San Antonio Spurs High School Showcase.
Aden Mendez 2023 5’10 Warren High School
Aden is a high-level point guard who has the ability to get to his own shot off the bounce at all three levels. He specializes in getting to his one to two dribble pull-up in the midrange which pairs well with Warren’s system that heavily involves three big men. So many teams are worried about protecting the rim and the three-point line and Mendez is good at getting to his shot in the midrange. He is great at going coast to coast and leading the break with his passing and ability to push the ball up the court. He is a scrappy on-ball defender who is good at getting underneath his defenders.
Dymiir Haney 2022 Guard 5’11 Taft High School
Dymiir is an athletic combo guard with a real ability to score in the paint. He is a fearless attacker of the rim and is not afraid to jump over and through defenders. I loved seeing him work out his defenders with his handle and attack the basket fearlessly. He is capable of scoring in heavy traffic, even with bigs involved. He is a patient scorer in the midrange, and really takes what the defense gives him every time down. He has an ability to get to his spots with a live dribble and rise over defenders.
