In their first meeting last month, Ruskin won in an 90-86 overtime thriller. The rematch was just as exciting and the result was the same with Ruskin taking a 73-70 victory in another overtime thriller. There was some very impressive shot-making going on at key stretches of the game.
There were many outstanding individual performances in this key conference game. Here are Prep Hoops Missouri’s Top Five Stars
No. 1 Star: Donald Bangham, Jr. (Ruskin)
The 6’3″ 2022 lefty shooting guard had an outstanding performance with a game-high 25 points. He’s is a potent offensive player who can attack off the dribble and hit the deep ball off the catch. He had three triples on the evening. He also threw down some impressive dunks, including one in the closing seconds to seal the victory in overtime.
No. 2 Star: Jarret Mueller (Platte County): The 5’11” 2022 guard scored a team-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers. He hit one of them in the overtime right in front of his own bench when it looked like he was going to lose his balance and fall. It was a big-time shot at a key moment. He stays on the hunt for buckets as he puts pressure on the defense. He also moves without the ball and scores on some sharp cuts to the basket.
No. 3 Star: I’Ryan Allen I’Ryan Allen 6'2" | PG Ruskin | 2022 State MO (Ruskin): The 6’2″ 2022 points guard scored 19 points while playing a smooth all-around floor game. He has a very nice game off the dribble where he can pull up from the mid-range and score on twisting drives in the lane. He also uses his length on the defensive end to pick pockets and score in transition.
No. 4 Star: Brady Fulk (Platte County):
The 6’3″ 2022 forward scored 15 points and was one of the top unsung players of the game. He scored 11 points in the first half and really carried the offense for his team in that span. He was aggressive in attacking the basket early in the game to get his team going. He was making many hustle plays as he scored on offensive rebounds and strong cuts without the ball.
No. 5 Stars (Tie): Isaac Havemeier (Platte County) and London Greer (Ruskin):
Both of these 2022 players were instrumental for their respective teams. The 6’6″ Havemeier scored 12 points and had a big impact on the defensive end with his shot blocking throughout the game. He used his size to rebound and score inside. The 6’1″ Greer matched Havemeier’s 12-point output and he did it with his slashing and athleticism. He also got out in transition and threw down a pair of dunks.
