In his last regular-season game, Woods did a little bit of everything with a win over Lehigh finishing with 17 points, 3 steals, and 4 assists. Woods has been a pivotal part of the Tarpon’s successful season, playing the strongest schedule in SWFL. The senior guard has had multiple double-digit outings against some of the top programs in the country, including a 17 point game against national powerhouse Milton from Ga. Woods shoots the ball well from behind the arc and seemed to be one of the Tarpon’s go-to players when they needed a bucket either off the dribble or spot up.
2023 John Gamble John Gamble 6'6" | CG Charlotte | 2023 State #208 Nation FL 6’6 Charlotte High
SWFL’s most explosive player checks all the boxes and does so with consistency. His ability to push the ball in transition and shoot from behind the arc was put on display all season long. Gamble who’s known for his highlight dunks and rim protection, clearly had a mission of showing how much of a complete player he is. He’s able to handle the ball like a guard, slash through traffic shedding physical contact to finish at the rim and now he’s shooting the ball from behind the arc with astounding confidence, in some cases even creating his shot. Look for this high-level prospect to make major noise in the postseason.
2022 Jay White Jay White 6'1" | PG Southwest Florida Christian | 2022 State FL 6’1 PG SFCA
Jay is arguably one of SWFL’s best pure Point Guards. While he’s shown the ability to get to the basket and shoot the three at a consistent clip, it’s his playmaking ability that makes him shine. White recently joined the 1,000 point club so it should be noted that while he’s averaging almost 7 assists per game, he’s able to score from all 3 levels. Jay is also relentless defender and is capable of doing whatever is needed to help his team get the W. This young man is a leader and will be a huge asset to his team at the next level.
2022 Yvens Paul Yvens Paul 6'7" | PF Barron Collier | 2022 State FL 6’7 PF Barron Collier
Paul has been a walking double-double. Averaging 11 PPG, 11 RPG, and 6 BPG. Yvens is a fierce rim protector and rebounder, seemingly able to score in the post at will. Paul will play a huge role in Barron Collier’s postseason run. Yvens post presence on defense should not be taken lightly, he’s made it a nightmare for teams that focus on pounding the paint.
