Centennial High School (7A) – Centennial carries the #1 seed into their 7A regional and will play #8 Forest Hill in the first round. Centennial looks destined for a matchup with Wellington in the final but will have to get through some tough teams first to make it that far. Centennial is led by the big 3 2023 Ty Owens who is having a breakout year and a candidate for player of the year, 2023 Joseph Lezeau who is a matchup nightmare and 2022 Fresh Walters who is the spark plug to this team. Fresh can score from all over the floor and brings a ton of energy and excitement to the floor. The road to Lakeland starts this week for Centennial and I know one thing for sure they will be a tough out.
Fort Pierce Central (7A)- Central is the #7 seed in 7A and will play the #2 seed Osceola. Central would love to get a district championship rematch against Centennial but will have to knock off some top seeds to get there. I can see them winning their first game which would most likely mean a semifinal game against powerhouse Wellington. Central has been led by seniors Sami Rahman and Travis King Travis King 6'2" | CG Trinity Christian | 2022 State FL and has had major contributions from 2025 stars Christian Maxon Christian Maxon 6'2" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 State FL , CHRISTOPHER MAXON CHRISTOPHER MAXON 6'1" | PG Fort Pierce Central | 2024 FL and Josh Banate Josh Banate 6'0" | CG Fort Pierce Central | 2025 FL . 2024 Big man Derrick King has been putting together a nice season and could be a key factor as well.
John Carroll Catholic (3A) – JC has the #7 seed and will face #2 seed St John Paul in Boca. JC has put together one of their best seasons in recent memory and will be ready to compete in this matchup. They are led by 2023 dual sport standouts Wilky Denaud Wilky Denaud 6'4" | SF John Carroll Catholic | 2023 FL and Aidan Singleton Aidan Singleton 6'1" | PG John Carroll Catholic | 2023 FL who set the tone and the pace for this team. 2024 dual sport athlete Tony Colebrook Tony Colebrook 6'2" | SF John Carroll | 2024 FL has also provided big minutes and production for the Rams this season. If the Rams can win their first game I could see them matching up against powerhouse Santa Fe Catholic in the semifinal. This team will go as far as their stars will take them and will need someone to step up from their bench when needed. Do not let the #7 seed fool you this team is solid and will bring everything they have to Boca.
Martin County (6A) – County gets the #2 seed and will face a tough Dillard team in the first round of regionals. The winner of that game will face either Dwyer or North Miami. Fans would love to see a 3rd matchup of County vs Dwyer this season as they split the season series 1 and 1. County is led by 2022 Nova Southeastern commit Ryan Davis Ryan Davis 6'4" | CG Martin County | 2022 State FL and 2024 breakout star Elijah Duval Elijah Duval 6'2" | SG Martin County | 2024 #118 Nation FL . They are also very deep with multiple dual sport stars on their team that can put up solid production. Keep an eye on 2023 guard Cam Insalaco Cam Insalaco 6'2" | PG Martin County | 2023 FL and 2022 Braydin Samuels Braydin Samuels 6'2" | CG Martin County | 2022 State FL both who have been battled tested and can step up big at any time.
Morningside Academy (2A) – The Eagles who are the #2 seed are fresh off their first ever district title and will take on Miami Christian. The Eagles are 20-3 and poised to make a state title run. To do so they will have to knock off some tough opponents which would most likely setup a must watch matchup against powerhouse and #1 seed Sagemont. The Eagles are led by 2022 star Damon Leigh who has nearly averaged a triple double all season. The Eagles have some of the best shooting guards in the state with 2024 Damon Folds Damon Folds 5'7" | PG Morningside | 2024 FL 2023 Darious Moore Darious Moore 5'11" | PG Morningside | 2023 FL and 2022 Damon Leigh all Top 20 in overall three point shooting percentage out of all High Schools. Bigs 2022 Caden Holland and 2022 Mitchely Kercy Mitchely Kercy 6'6" | SF Port St. Lucie | 2022 State FL have also had great seasons and will be key pieces in seeing how far this team can go.
Okeechobee (5A) – This team has had one of its best seasons in quite some time. Led by breakout 2022 star Amayoa’ah Phillips who is averaging 24 points per game this team currently stands at 21-5. They are the #7 see and will face a tough #2 seed Norland out of Miami. This team plays with a lot of energy and passion and they will need all of it in this tough matchup.
