Continue ReadingHunter, ND – The Jaguars are putting together and nice season and they are hoping for a #4 seed for the Region 1 Tournament. The Tournament will be played at NDSCS in Wahpeton. They do not have much size but they are a scrappy and hardworking team with some nice players. NCASS is 8-6 overall with a 4-3 record in Region 1 play. They will have the #4 seed locked up if they win at Oak Grove on February 25th. If the Jags lose to the Grovers then their seed will come down to a handful of tiebreakers. If you are a Jags fan, you obviously hope that they win out in Region 1 games and finish with the #4 seed. It is going to be a fun ending to the regular season and even a better post-season! Good luck to the Jaguars from Northern Cass!
Jag Talk with Coach Bryce Laxdal
What has been the highlight of the season so far?
“Overall growth and improvement of our team has been really fun to watch, it seems like someone else steps up every game. Beating Cavalier on an inbound play we executed well is probably a team highlight.“
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
“We want to get to the semi-finals of the region, where anything can happen!“
Which players are most improved and why?
“Our entire team has improved, we play 9 kids every night and I think that’s what makes us so tough.“
Who have been your top players defensively?
“Jake Metzger, Luke Wagner, and Landon Moser Landon Moser 6'1" | PG Northern Cass | 2024 State ND are our best defenders.”
What has been your team’s identity so far?
“This is the deepest team I have ever coached, we have 9 guys who can get out and run and we can all shoot it. We like to play some aggressive man defense and we are going to shoot a lot of 3s.“
