There is a reason that a lot of celebrities keep summer or vacation homes in north Idaho, even if they never acknowledge the state in their interviews or lists of top places to live. Nevertheless, north Idaho is also home to some really great basketball players and some great talent can be found from the smallest schools all the way to the biggest schools. Wherever you look, there is sure to be some great high school basketball being played nearby and there is never a shortage of talent the further north you go. Continue reading for a look at some of the top performances from recent north Idaho action.
Kellogg vs. Timberlake: Kellogg was able to outlast Timberlake recently thanks to a strong defensive second half and being able to find their range throughout the duration of the game. Kellogg shot the ball well in the second half and was able to shutdown Timberlake’s leading scorer in order to solidify their victory. Kellogg was led by 16 point performance by Riply Luna Riply Luna 6'3" | SF Kellogg | 2023 State ID who scored most of his points in the paint and also knocked down a pair of triples. Kellogg also got help from Kolby Luna Kolby Luna 6'3" | CG Kellogg | 2023 State ID who scored 14 points, including 4 three-pointers, as well as 10 points from Tanner Groves who got into the paint all night long. Timberlake was led by 17 points from Hunter Higgins who stepped up to provide more scoring during the game. Zach Yetter Zach Yetter 5'9" | PG Timberlake | 2022 State ID got off to a hot start and scored 11 points in the first half, but Kellogg turned up the heat defensively and barely let him shoot in the second half, allowing him to finish with 13 points.
Post Falls C vs. Mullan: In order to fill out their schedules, Post Falls C was able to take a victory over Mullan recently in north Idaho. Luke Trogden Luke Trogden 5'11" | PG Mullan | 2022 State ID scored 30 points for Mullan and did all that he could to keep them close, but his great shots from outside, consistent free throws, and drives to the basket were not enough to overcome the speed and power of Post Falls C. Trogden also got help from Floyd Nelson Floyd Nelson 6'0" | SG Mullan | 2023 State ID who contributed 13 points and played well on the defensive and offensive rebounding game plan.
