The event, hosted by ABC, featured prep and post-grad teams from throughout the southwest The event was filled with several big-time prospects. In this article, we take a look at the top prospects from the event.
Keyon Menifield Keyon Menifield 6'1" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’2 PG Phoenix Prep 2022 – Menifield is a big-time scoring guard that possesses a good 1 v1 game. He was effective outside the arc but did the most damage with his pull-ups and mid-range bucket. The elite offensive weapon is headed to the Pac 12 to play PG at the University of Washington.
Will Coates Will Coates 6'8" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’7 SF Phoenix Prep 2022 – Coates was a sharpshooter all week. He was effective from the corners making threes from that spot at a high rate. He showed ball skills when needed, putting the ball on the ground to get to the rim when defenders closed out against his shot.
Ollie Fell Ollie Fell 6'6" | PF Espanola Valley | 2022 State NM 6’5 SF ABC New Mexico 2022 (featured image) – Fell played well. The 6’5 forward showed some skill, knocking down mid-range jumpers and he flashed some athleticism highlighting his R&J ability with a sick Euro step that he turned into a dunk. The high flying forward will be reclassifying, making him one of the top 2023s at the event.
Tucker Mills 6’7 SF Rocky Mountain Select 2023 – Mills was sensational in the game I watched. He shot the ball accurately, knocking down several shots both in catch and shoot and off the bounce. He used a good first step to get to the basket and finished at the rim on several occasions. One of the top sleepers at the event, Mills has an offer from the University of Lousiana Monroe and may attract more after his performance this weekend.
Micah Pierce Micah Pierce 6'7" | PF Phh Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’6 PF Phoenix Prep 2022 – I’ve watched Pierce quite a bit over the last couple of years. This was the most explosive I’ve seen him. Pierce seemed to finish everything at the rim emphatically throwing down dunks. He showed good hands, sometimes catching bullet passes from mere feet away. A 4.0 student Pierce has an offer from Westminster.
Cory Curtis 6’2 CG ABC – Curtis displayed his electric scoring ability all weekend. The combo guard has a slick handle and used it to shake his way free from defenders. His best move was the pull-up jumper, where he dribbled across halfcourt at full speed, stopped on a dime and launched from behind the line. He was one of the top scorers at the event.
