We have put together a Mr. Basketball Watch List with the Top 20+ candidates for the award. Players are represented in all six classes and from different regions of the state. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Jordan Andrews Jordan Andrews 6'0" | CG Thayer | 2022 State MO (Thayer): The 6’0 guard has been tremendous in leading top-ranked Thayer to a 19-1 record and a couple of tournament championships. Red Buckets is averaging 19.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 54 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range.
Alex Benassi Alex Benassi 6'3" | PG Lee's Summit | 2022 State MO (Lee’s Summit): The 6’3″ point guard has led the Tigers to a 17-1 record. He is averaging 14.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range.

(MICDS): The versatile 6’8″ forward has led the Rams to a 17-3 record and two tournament titles. He is averaging 16.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and three blocks per game while shooting 57 percent from the field.
Garrett Davault Garrett Davault 6'2" | SG Norwood | 2022 State MO (Norwood): The 6’2″ guard has led the Pirates to an 18-1 record, which included an upset victory over Class 5 Webb City this week. He has been averaging well over 20 points throughout his career and has also surpassed the 2,000-point plateau.
Drenin Dinkins Drenin Dinkins 6'0" | PG South Iron | 2022 State MO (South Iron): The 6’0″ guard is currently averaging 28 points, eight rebounds and four assists a game for the defending Class 1 state champions. He is also shooting 55 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range.
Ikenna Ezeogu (Blue Springs): The 6’6″ Iowa State football recruit is also one of the top basketball players in the state. He has bee a force inside this season as he averages 21.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals in leading the Wildcats to a 15-3 record.
Zach Howell Zach Howell 6'4" | SG Springfield Catholic | 2022 State MO (Springfield Catholic): The 6’5″ sharpshooter recently became Catholic’s All-Time leading scorer. Through 22 games, he is averaging 23.7 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range.

(SLUH): The 6’4″ Saint Louis U. recruit has led the Jr. Bills to a 15-4 record while averaging 20 points and five rebounds a game while shooting 37 percent from 3-point range.

(Mexico): The 6’0 point guard has led the Bulldogs to an 18-0 record and Top Five ranking in the current Class 4 polls. He is averaging 18.2 points, four rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 38 percent from 3-point range.
Collin Ruffin (Nixa): The smooth 6’3″ point guard has been the leader of the Eagles’ squad that is a Class 6 contender. He leads a balanced scoring attack with his ability penetrate and hit long 3-pointers. He is also a tremendous passer who is always setting up his teammates.
Bennett Stirtz Bennett Stirtz 6'5" | CG Liberty | 2022 State MO (Liberty): The 6’4″ point guard has led the Bluejays to an impressive 17-2 record. He is currently averaging 18.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.6 steals while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range.

He is averaging 24.4 points, 12.9 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game while shooting 61 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range.

Trasean White (Confluence Prep): The 6’1″ point guard has been one of the state’s biggest breakout performers this season. He is currently averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds. 6.8 assists and 4.4 steals while shooting 50 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.
