There was tons of talent throughout the event, featuring some of the best available players in the area. Here’s a look at part 4 of the standouts from the VA programs, looking at the standouts from Miller School.
Anthony Davis Anthony Davis 6'5" | SF Miller School | 2022 State VA | 6’4” WF | Miller School 2022
Davis was the star in their first win against Franklin Prep as he showed his athleticism and high motor helping his team in a number of ways on both ends of the floor. The Fairfield commit is strong and uses his physicality when attacking the rim and finishing through contact, he was great in transition and hitting the glass and he brought it on the defensive end too. He finished with 15 points in their win over Franklin Prep.
Jacob Rice Jacob Rice 6'7" | SF Miller School | 2022 State VA | 6’7” PF | Miller School 2022
Rice continues to show why he’s one of the best unsigned seniors in the state, as the 6’7” forward showed all of his versatility in their two wins. The 6’7” forward is the type of player who can score it in a ton of ways as he can finish at the rim and shoots it well from deep, he plays hard on both ends of the floor and he’s a walking mismatch who is hard to game plan for. He finished with 14 points in their win over Franklin Prep and 8 points in their win over Moc Valley Prep
Ethan DeLaurier | 6’8” PF | Miller School 2022
The Navy commit is one of the most improved players in the state over the past few years, and he was fantastic in their win over Moc Valley Prep in their second game. He’s a high motor forward who moves well and runs the floor hard, he’s developed into a knock down shooter from deep over the past few years and he brings some toughness to his team too. He finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds in their second game win.
Austin Ball Austin Ball 6'7" | SF Miller School | 2023 State #203 Nation VA | 6’6” WG | Miller School 2023
The nationally ranked wing has bought into the team oriented style of the Mavericks, and has really rounded his game out on both ends of the floor and does a little bit of everything to help his team. He showed his improvement on the defensive end understanding his assignment and being in help constantly, he’s still a talented scorer who can fill it up in different ways and he’s rebounding more every time I see him. He finished with 13 points in both games and his continued development in the rest of the areas of his game bold well for him moving forward.
Jordan Horne Jordan Horne 6'2" | PG Miller School Of Albemarle | 2023 State VA | 6’2” PG | Miller School 2023
Another very improved player for the Mavericks, Horne has developed into a very good lead guard who can impact the game both with his scoring and his playmaking. He’s a strong and athletic guard with good blow by speed, he gets in the lane and makes plays for himself and others and he sets the tone on both ends of the floor for his team. He finished with 9 points and 4 assists in their win over Franklin Prep and 6 points and 10 assists in their win over Moc Valley Prep.
Wilson Hagen | 6’5” WF | Miller School 2023
Hagen is one of a number of juniors that are under the radar on this Miller team, and he’s really stepped up over the past few weeks and showing he’s an x-factor for this group. The 6’5” wing is a gritty player who does all the little things to help his team, he shoots the ball well from deep and he rarely makes mistakes when he’s on the floor. He finished with 10 points. 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in their win over Franklin Prep and 10 points and 4 rebounds in their win over Moc Valley Prep.
