There were some additions along with some movement within this latest update. In this overview, we will dive into the top ten and other tidbits about the about the 2022 class.
The Top Ten
- Solomon Washington Solomon Washington 6'7" | SF Carver | 2022 State #127 Nation LA
- Percy Daniels Percy Daniels 6'8" | PF Madison Prep | 2022 State LA
- Labree Williams Labree Williams 6'6" | SF Calvary Baptist | 2023 #186 Nation FL
- Dorian Finister Dorian Finister 6'5" | CG Carver | 2022 State #173 Nation LA
- John-Paul Ricks John-Paul Ricks 6'0" | PG Jehovah-Jireh | 2022 State #206 Nation LA

There was some slight shuffling in the top ten during this latest rankings release. Texas A&M signee Solomon Washington Solomon Washington 6'7" | SF Carver | 2022 State #127 Nation LA remains the top player in the class followed closely by the Madison Prep forward Percy Daniels Percy Daniels 6'8" | PF Madison Prep | 2022 State LA . Calvary Baptist forward Labree Williams Labree Williams 6'6" | SF Calvary Baptist | 2023 #186 Nation FL is one of the players who shuffled as he made the slight leap to the third position. Dorian Finister Dorian Finister 6'5" | CG Carver | 2022 State #173 Nation LA , the Carver combo guard, follows Labree as he is the fourth ranked player in the class of 2022. Rounding out the top five is John-Paul Ricks John-Paul Ricks 6'0" | PG Jehovah-Jireh | 2022 State #206 Nation LA who recently joined the 3600 point club at Jehovah-Jireh.
The highest riser in the top 10 is Jacob Wilson Jacob Wilson 6'5" | SF Liberty | 2022 State LA . The Liberty guard has been one of the best players in the south and the state garnering offers from mid-major schools along the way. His move up to sixth is no accident. The seventh position goes to Kyran Ratliff. After his brief stint in Arizona, he has returned to help Shaun Dumas Academy be one of the surprise schools on the national schedule. Jalen Bolden Jalen Bolden 6'5" | SG Zachary | 2022 State LA moves from the fringe of the top 10 to the 8th position. His play for Zachary has been phenomenal and is a definite reason they are considered by many the best team in the state. UNO signee Alexzaye Johnson Alexzaye Johnson 6'4" | PG St Benedicts Prep | 2023 State NJ , the second rated point guard in the state, checks in at number nine. He too has helped the Shaun Dumas Academy with his performances this season. Rounding out the top ten is one of the top two-way players around in Joseph Manning Joseph Manning 6'3" | CG Bossier | 2022 State LA . His play has helped Bossier to a #2 ranking in class 3A.
Newcomers & Returning Players
Along with Kyran Ratliff, Lance Waddles Lance Waddles 6'3" | CG Victory Rock Prep | 2022 State LA has also returned to the Louisiana prep scene like he never left. He is just outside of the top 10 at number thirteen (#13). Notable names in the list of newcomers are Zachary forward Kaleb Huggins Kaleb Huggins 6'5" | SF Baker | 2022 State LA (#68), Natchitoches Central guard Dalyn Davis Dalyn Davis 6'2" | CG Natchitoches Central | 2022 State LA (#80), and Captain Shreve guard Christan Ford Christan Ford 6'4" | CG Captain Shreve | 2022 State LA (#81). Other players like Jackson Pilgreen Jackson Pilgreen 6'5" | PF Ruston | 2022 State LA (Ruston/#95) and Javae Gilmore Javae Gilmore 6'5" | SF Amite | 2022 State LA (Amite/#94) are players may not be as notable but they are key players on high performing teams this season. These players, and others, have been introduced during this latest expansion to the class of 2022. This ever-evolving class has grown to 192 players statewide.
Stock Risers
Every ranking around the country has a ton of stock risers in their class. Louisiana fits that bill with new player movement especially into the top 30. Christian Ferguson, one of the top shooters in the state, now checks in as the #20 best player in Louisiana. Being 6’5″ with a stroke like his is something special. Jordan Brooks Jordan Brooks 6'6" | SF Port Allen | 2022 State LA , the Port Allen forward, rose in the rankings to #22. Marquis Harris Marquis Harris 6'5" | SF Bossier | 2022 State LA , the Bossier four sport star, has risen to #28 in this latest PHLA rankings edition. Troy Cole Troy Cole 6'5" | SG Donaldsonville | 2022 State LA (#23) and Noah Jonker Noah Jonker 6'5" | PF Alexandria | 2022 State LA (#24) were two of the largest stock risers as they have moved into the top 25. Both players have had outstanding seasons thus far. Both players have shown growth in their game that merits their upward movement.
