Class 2A Poll

1- York Prep (Rock Hill) (19-0) 

The Patriots have been rolling all season long under Head Coach Larry Davis. The Patriots have a group of seniors leading the way this season. Kory Davis Kory Davis 5'11" | PG York Prep | 2022 State SC , Kendall Davis Kendall Davis 6'0" | PG York Prep | 2022 State SC , Jimeion Brown Jimeion Brown 6'8" | PF York Prep | 2022 State SC , LaDarian McCree LaDarian McCree 5'11" | PG York Prep | 2022 State SC and Jevon Long Jevon Long 5'9" | PG York Prep | 2022 State SC have led the way all season long. Underclassmen Derrick Barksdale Derrick Barksdale 5'10" | SG South Pointe | 2023 State SC and Justin Pauling Justin Pauling 5'11" | CG Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC see plenty of playing time. Can the Patriots keep it going? 

2- Philip Simmons (21-3) 

The Iron Horses are the new kids on the block down in Charleston. Philip Simmons has lost to Conway HS, Myrtle Beach HS and Porter Ridge (NC) all bigger in classification. The Iron Horses have won 10 straight games and currently stand at (8-0) in region play. Philip Simmons HS will play Woodland HS this coming Thursday in a region contest. Miles Haight Miles Haight 5'11" | CG Philip Simmons | 2022 State SC , Matthew Lemmon Matthew Lemmon 6'5" | SF Philip Simmons | 2022 State SC and Robert Watson Robert Watson 6'2" | CG Philip Simmons | 2024 State SC all provide leadership for this squad. Haight chips in with 16 ppg while Watson averages 12.4 ppg. 

3- Gray Collegiate (17-4)

The War Eagles have won its last 10 games in a row. Gray Collegiate loads up with a tough non region schedule. Head Coach Dion Bethea has very balance scoring with Trai White Trai White 5'10" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2023 State SC 13.5 ppg, Avantae Parker Avantae Parker 6'9" | PF Gray Collegiate | 2023 State SC 11.5 ppg, Calvin Hall Calvin Hall 6'2" | SG Gray Collegiate | 2022 State SC 10.2 ppg, Jalen Jefferson Jalen Jefferson 6'2" | CG North | 2023 State SC 10.1 ppg and Senior guard Tory Kelly Tory Kelly 6'0" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2022 State SC 9 ppg. Kelly is signed to play football next year at Wingate University (NC) (NCAA D2). 

4-Christ Church (16-4)

The returning Class 2A State Champions have lost to Dorman HS, Fort Dorchester HS, Abbeville HS and 1of1 Academy (NC). Junior Jordan Butler Jordan Butler 6'11" | PF Christ Church | 2023 State #57 Nation SC is patrolling the paint while averaging 12.6 ppg, 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 blocks this season. DJ Harvey DJ Harvey 5'10" | PG Christ Church | 2024 State SC is filling up the stat sheet this season at 11.2 ppg, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists while Samuel Perry Samuel Perry 6'2" | CG Christ Church | 2022 State SC a unsigned senior comes in at 10.8 ppg while recently going over 1,000 career points. Can the Cavaliers repeat this season?

5- Wade Hampton HS (Varnville) (19-2)

The Red Devils just seem to be here every year and winning games under the radar. The Red Devils have had setbacks to Edisto HS 44-43 and James Island HS 66-54. Isaac Gray Isaac Gray 6'0" | PG Wade Hampton | 2023 State SC leads the team at 15.9 ppg, Brenden Brantley Brenden Brantley 6'2" | SG Andrew Jackson Academy | 2023 State SC 13.1 ppg and Jamian Risher Jamian Risher 6'1" | CG Wade Hampton | 2022 State SC 10.6 ppg. 

6- Landrum HS (20-3)

The Cardinals have done it again under Head Coach Lyn Smith that is win 20 plus games. Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 5'11" | PG Landrum | 2022 State SC currently has 1,376 career points while averaging 19.8 ppg and 6.8 assists this season. Franklin Davis Franklin Davis 6'3" | SG Landrum | 2024 State SC and Mason Raines Mason Raines 5'11" | SG Landrum | 2022 State SC both come in at 12 ppg and 10.3 per outing. This Cardinals team is in a region battle with St Joseph’s tonight. 

7- Andrew Jackson HS (Kershaw) (15-7)

The Volunteers have scored some big wins this season over Gray Collegiate and Spring Valley. The Volunteers have fallen to York Prep – 2 times, Wilson HS, AC Flora HS and Great Falls to name a few. Ca’Darrius Sowell Ca’Darrius Sowell 6'0" | PG Andrew Jackson | 2022 State SC a unsigned senior is averaging 26.5 ppg, 4.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season. Sowell currently has 1,165 career points. Tanas Watkins Tanas Watkins 6'4" | PF Andrew Jackson | 2022 State SC plays in the paint and is averaging 13.2 ppg and 9.6 rebounds this season. 

8- Woodland HS (15-5) 

The Wolverines play off the grid a bit down in the Lowcountry . The have losses to South Aiken HS, First Baptist, Orangeburg-Wilkinson and Philip Simmons. The Wolverines have a rematch with the Iron Horses later this week.

9- St Joseph’s Catholic (Greenville) (13-6) 

The Knights have a big contest tonight with Landrum HS in region play. The Knights the winners of 8 straight games have the lead in the region headed into tonight’s contest. Can Jalen Gibson Jalen Gibson 6'1" | CG St Joseph's | 2022 State SC help the Knights bring the win home this evening? 

10- Abbeville HS (11-2) 

The Panthers are just not a football powerhouse. The Panthers are currently (6-1) in the region just behind Christ Church (7-1). Junior Javario Tinch Javario Tinch 6'4" | SF Abbeville | 2023 State SC is averaging 17.3 ppg and 8.3 rebounds this season while Rhasheed Davis Rhasheed Davis 5'8" | PG Abbeville | 2022 State SC comes in at 14.4 ppg.
