Best EDC Game to Watch this Week: Davies v. Red River

With the Class A boys basketball regular season coming to a near end, its time to look at the best EDC game to watch this week. 

Grand Forks Red River @ Fargo Davies 2/22/22 @7:15pm

This game against the RoughRiders and Eagles is a showdown of two of the top four teams in the Eastern Dakota Conference. Davies is currently #1 in the standings and Red River is currently #4. Both teams also enter this match-up on a winning streak, with neither of them wanting that to end. In terms of individual players on both sides we have a crop of very talented prospects that are set to have a big impact the remainder of the way.

On the Maroon and Gold side we have Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2025 State ND , Ian Motschenbacher Ian Motschenbacher 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2022 State ND , Raymond Brown Raymond Brown 5'11" | PG Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND , Max Froslie Max Froslie 6'8" | PF Fargo Davies | 2023 State ND , Evan Van Dam Evan Van Dam 6'6" | PF Fargo Davies | 2022 State ND , Daniel Yorke Daniel Yorke 6'1" | SG Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND , and Alex Proctor Alex Proctor 6'1" | SG Fargo Davies | 2022 State ND . This collective group makes up the most dangerous offensive team in the East along with a hard to score on defense. Not to mention that several of these players are either committed to play college basketball, or are apart of the recruiting process. In my opinion this squad will be hard to stop in the conference tournament and will be a serious threat when State rolls around.

For the Red and White we’ve got Zach Kraft Zach Kraft 6'2" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND , Paine Parks Paine Parks 6'3" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2022 State ND , Reis Rowekamp Reis Rowekamp 6'4" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND , and Carter Byron Carter Byron 6'7" | PF Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND . This team has been clicking at the right time and have found their groove and identity. What has really been working for this group has been shooting from behind the arc, finding themselves at #1 in both three point field goal % and makes per game. This alone makes them a very dangerous team to meet in the postseason as they can heat up and run away with a score at any moment. I believe with the confidence this group is playing at right now they can give Davies and run for their money and make this game a slug fest.   

I would also like to mention that this contest will feature two experienced coaches in Bart Manson and Kirby Krafting, and their knowledge and expertise only adds to the excitement that this game is gong to bring. Both of these squads can be and are dangerous on offense and I can legitimately see this being a high scoring affair on both ends.
