Grant Luikens Grant Luikens 6'3" | SG Potter County | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-3 G|
21 points. This kid is a DUDE! Grant showed great shooting form with a silky smooth pull-up jumper from mid-range and from beyond the arc. Grant is a natural scorer that makes it look easy. Like most pure scorers, Luikens is skilled at getting to the FT-line. He is an aggressive and a finely-tuned cutter. Grant is tough off the bounce and he uses his body well to protect the ball and draw fouls. He looks to be a very good rebounder. I was impressed when Luikens grabbed an offensive rebound and immediately threw a full-court dime to a streaking teammate. He also will grab a board and bring the ball up the court with smooth handles. Grant is an AND1, smooth, athletic, skilled, flexible, and multi-talented finisher. I really liked the looks of his hesitation move and his impressive hang time when finishing. Luikens is also a skilled passer that set up teammates for many good looks. Luikens looked like an All-State Player in this one.
Cooper Logan Cooper Logan 6'0" | SG Potter County | 2022 State SD (2022) |6-1 F|
13 points. He is a strong player that recently scored his 1,000th point. Cooper had multiple AND1’s finishes that showed off his strength. He is a physical player and finisher. He muscled-up opposing defenders and Cooper played bully-ball at times. I was impressed with his patience and how Logan let potential shot blockers fly by him before his shot. Cooper is a strong and aggressive rebounder. I liked his ball skills, Logan has fine handles and he can throw 1-handed passes off the dribble. Cooper sees the floor well and he hits cutters in a timely matter. He had a solid all-around game tonight.
Seth Sharp (2022) |6-2 F|
13 points. He won the tipoff to start the game. Sharp showed a quick and smooth jump shot. He showcased his athleticism with a fullcourt, run-out layup. Sharp was impressive with a screen-n-roll finish. Later in the game, Seth showed another nice 15-foot jumper with a high release. He scored another 2-points with an O-board, 1 dribble, and a quick putback.
Drake Bassett (2022) |5-10 G|
20 points. He impressed me with his effort on a run out in transition that led to an easy bucket. Drake had multiple fast break baskets. Bassett dropped some dimes when attacking. Drake attacked the basket, was fouled and nailed both ft-shots. Drake hit two 3-balls tonight. I was impressed with his up-tempo finish in transition when he had to switch hands in mid-air. He showcased nice footwork with a euro-step. Drake also had a great bounce pass to a teammate on a pick-n-roll. Bassett had a very nice game tonight.
Leola-Frederick Titans
Hans Lapka (2023) |5-10 G|
He scored the first basket of the game. Lapka hit a tough running shot when attacking the basket from 10-feet. Hans is a crafty player and I liked the way he swung the ball around the perimeter with authority. Hans turned the basketball over on defense and he sacrificed his body when taking a charge.
Colton Spitzer (2022) |6-4 C|
He is a big and strong frontcourt player. Spitzer worked hard for rebounds and he snagged multiple offensive boards. Colton scored from the block and the charity stripe.
Brayden Sumption (2024) |5-10 G|
He hit an in-rhythm 3-ball in the first quarter. Sumption looked good with a steal, a breakaway, and a bank shot over a defender.
Ethan Morlock (2022) |5-11 G|
He is a slasher that penetrates to create for others. Morlock seems to have good court vision. Ethan had some nice passes and he dropped a couple of dimes.
Noah Kippley Noah Kippley 6'3" | SG Leola-Frederick Area | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-0 SG|
This youngster stood out tonight as a shooter from beyond the arc. Kippley liked the left side tonight when shooting. Noah hit two triples from the left corner and 1 from the left-wing. Kippley also showed some smooth footwork around the basket. This freshman looks like he has what it takes to be a real shooter in the near future.
