SubscribeDay 2 has been full of energy as teams position themselves to make a run in to the championship. A lot of players stood out early in the early morning tip-off. Here are a few players that stood out.
5’11 G Dominic Gallardo || Jr. Hoops Garnett || 2026 ||
Domnic was active on the defensive end of the floor playing those lanes as his team was trapping. He was picking up steals and leading the break. Impressed with his IQ to get the ball up early to let his team create and score quickly. He would get the ball back at times and he was making teams play with his quick decisions taking it to the basket on straight-line drives and catch and shoots opportunities. Very fluid game at this level.
5’9 SG Kahlil Hudgins || Colorado Premier || 2027 ||
Kahlil set the tone early as his team battled for a late game win as they held of a surging YBA Team. Kahlil was lighting it up from beyond the arc off the bounce and a few off of broken plays. Smooth looking stroke with a high release. Has a good feel for where he is because he let a few fly a step or two away from the three-point line. Keeps it simple and finds his spots. Stays active without the ball and that movement allows for open shots and a clear path to some offensive board.
6’0 PF Devyn Blake || Jr. Hoops Blue || 2026 ||
Devyn came in off of a dead-ball and decided to use his sheer strength to move anyone out of the way down on the blocks. He was working the left and right side of the paint and playing through contact racking up the rebounds and tough buckets. A few AND 1’s to add as well. He was doing a lot of the dirty work as his team rolled.
5’7 F Jaytwan Hollingsworth || San Diego Prospects || 2028 ||
Although he is playing on that 2028 team he is playing up. Jaytwan was all over the floor diving for loose balls, getting steals and getting up and down the floor. He is big kid that shows no sign of his age against his competition. Smart passer and he finishes anything around the rim.
5’11 PG Jayden Blake || San Diego Prospects Supreme || 2026 ||
Talk about a kid with speed and that can change gears on the drop of a dime. Jayden snakes his way in the lane with or without a screen. He pushes the tempo and he can get in the lane and create for himself and others. He has that take over style of play.
