1. Cam Whitmore | 6’7 | Archbishop Spalding (Villanova)
Whitmore continued to stay at the number one spot in the latest 2022 rankings update. The Villanova commit has carried his summer success into this high school season as he is putting up some big time numbers during his senior year at Archbishop Spalding allowing them to get some good recognition on the national level.
2. Tyrell Ward Tyrell Ward 6'7" | SF DeMatha | 2022 State #56 Nation MD | 6’7 | DeMatha (Xavier)
The Xavier commit comes in at number two overall in the latest update and continues to show how skilled he is as we are projecting him to have a very good future at the next level. Ward already has shown next level stuff and is a guy we see contributing at Xavier as soon as he steps on campus.
5. Darren Buchanan Jr. | 6’7 | Wilson
Buchanan comes in as the third ranked forward in the 2022 rankings and sits at number five overall. He is the highest uncommitted player in MD/DC and has a good amount of schools actively recruiting him. It has been hard to gauge exactly where he might be thinking in terms of where he might want to go to college but he remains actively pursued by many schools at the mid and high major level.
7. Christian Watson Christian Watson 6'6" | SF St. John's | 2022 State #121 Nation MD | 6’6 | St. John’s (Miami)
Watson committed to Jim Larranaga and Miami earlier this fall as Miami continues to have major success in the DMV. Watson is a do it all forward that can be effective on both ends of the ball because of his size and versatility. His game does need to be polished a little but he has the chance to bring a nice spark to Miami during his time there.
10. Cortez Johnson Cortez Johnson 6'7" | PF St. Frances | 2022 State MD | 6’7 | St. Frances
Johnson is another uncommitted player and has used his senior season to his advantage as he is off to a strong start for St. Frances. His ability to score the ball and rebound on both ends and the length he brings has caught many different schools eyes which has boosted his recruitment. It would not shock me to see more low to mid major schools get involved with the 6’7 prospect.
