Chris Mitchell Chris Mitchell 6'5" | SF Bexley | 2022 State OH , 6’5 PF Bexley 2022: Mitchell is one of the top players in the state I previously hadn’t gotten the opportunity to watch in person. An Ashland commit, Mitchell stands out in warm-ups with his frame and athleticism. Throughout the game Mitchell threw down a couple monstrous dunks in transition. Still developing as a playmaker and shooter, you can see traits that should make Ashland fans excited for his potential down the road.
Kenny Satterfield Jr Kenny Satterfield Jr 6'2" | PG Patrick School | 2023 State #242 Nation NJ , 6’1 PG Whitehall 2023: Satterfield is one of the less talked about Division I caliber prospects in the state. Transferring to Whitehall from Oak Hills, Satterfield has had a big year scoring the basketball. A talented shooter, Kenny Jr can create his own shot and shoot it at a high level. It’s interesting watching Satterfield with Whitehall because at times he makes good passes to put teammates in positions to score and other times he seems to try and score it himself against multiple defenders. I’ll be interested to see who he plays travel ball with this spring and summer to be seen by college coaches once again.
Jamal Sumlin Jamal Sumlin 6'2" | PG Rhodes | 2022 State OH , 6’2 PG Rhodes 2022: Sumlin is one of the top available seniors in the state and is a no brainer Division I caliber prospect in my eyes. Sumlin has always been a guy who thrives doing the dirty work defensively and making plays for teammates. On Rhodes Sumlin also has to be the primary scoring option and was able to show some more outside scoring flashes than you usually see from him with All Ohio Red or Ypsi Prep. I’m not sure what low major coaches are waiting to see with Sumlin if he has the grades to qualify academically because this is a prospect that can help you win games.
Trey Robertson Trey Robertson 5'10" | PG Waverly | 2022 State OH , 5’10 PG Waverly 2022: Robertson has had a monster senior season in southeast Ohio, as he’s one of the top scorers in the state. Robertson continued his tear against conference rival South Webster on Tuesday with 34 points on efficient shooting from the floor. Robertson is a gym rat who you can tell puts up hundreds of shots a day by watching him in the game. Scholarship programs should be taking a strong look at Robertson if they are looking to add a point guard in the 2022 class.
Eli Roberts, 6’5 SF South Webster 2025: Roberts is a special athlete from southeast Ohio and appears well on his way to being the next Division I prospect from the southeast district. Roberts is a highflyer who was throwing down windmill dunks in warmups. Roberts shoots a decent ball and made some plays with the ball in his hand on the perimeter. I liked seeing Roberts handle the ball on the perimeter as much as he did because he’s going to be playing wing at the next level and won’t be a strictly post presence despite him being the tallest player on the court. Roberts is a name that Division I coaches will start to familiarize themselves with probably starting in the summer of 2023.
