Robert Dorsey Robert Dorsey 5'10" | PG Northland | 2022 State OH , 5’10 PG Northland 2022: Dorsey is one of the top guards in the city league and showed why against Olentangy Orange. Dorsey finished with 28 points on a heavy dose of transition buckets. Dorsey hit some shots from the outside in the second half and brought his team back. Dorsey is tough to stop when he’s attacking with his preferred left hand and has wide shoulders to take contact.
Joshua Evans Joshua Evans 6'4" | SF New Albany | 2022 State OH , 6’4 SF New Albany 2022: Evans is a player who stood out at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo and continued to show why I find him so intriguing against Walnut Ridge. Evans is a slashing wing who has a long wingspan that allowed him to extend past smaller defenders. Evans plays with a high motor and made some nice hustle plays. Also, Evans hit a time and space 3-pointer to suggest maybe there’s some shooting potential there.
Blake Pistro Blake Pistro 6'5" | PF New Albany | 2022 State OH , 6’5 PF New Albany 2022: Pistro is a true stretch-4 for the Eagles as he finished with a double-double against Walnut Ridge. Pistro has a quick release and a nice frame at 6’5. Pistro and Evans are two polar opposite wing prospects but fit well together. I think Division III programs should be looking at both prospects because they provide different things on the court.
Dior Conners Dior Conners 6'2" | PG Pickerington North | 2022 State OH , 6’2 CG Pickerington North 2022: Fresh off a 34-point career high outing on the night prior, Conners continued his impressive senior season with another dominant outing against Eastmoor. Conners is healthy and playing the best basketball of his career, continuing to improve his stock. Conners also fits well with all the guards that Pickerington North plays because they take a lot of play-making responsibility off Conners shoulders and allow him to attack and look to score the ball. Conners seems like the type of prospect that could wind up at a scholarship program or be an instant impact type of player at the Division III level.
Dennis Asoro Dennis Asoro 6'8" | C Eastmoor | 2022 State OH , 6’8 C Eastmoor Academy 2022: Asoro is a man amongst boys for Eastmoor, getting double-doubles on a nightly basis. This was a bad evaluation setting for Asoro because he was simply so much bigger than anybody else on the court. With that being said, it was good to see Asoro dominate the smaller opposition. Asoro is tough to stop on his right shoulder with good touch with his left hand. JUCO programs should be all over Asoro.
Ajay Sheldon Ajay Sheldon 6'2" | PG Dublin Coffman | 2022 State OH , 6’0 PG Dublin Coffman 2022: Sheldon is another player who was coming off a career night, as Sheldon led his team to a victory over previously unbeaten Upper Arlington in a huge rivalry victory where Sheldon poured in 38 points. Sheldon has one of the greenest lights in the state as he’s allowed the freedom to shoot from anywhere inside of 30 feet. Sheldon is a tough cover with his quickness with the ball in his hands and the ability to change speeds and direction. I’ll be interested to see how much of this style of play translates to the college level as Sheldon plays completly different roles for high school and grassroots teams.
