How long have you guys been a team, and what are something that you try and teach your players or your foundation?

We have been a team since 2015 which was called Cincinnati Royals but then became All H.E.A.R.T. Our team is based on All H.E.A.R.T. principles, Hard Work, Effort, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork (Toughness) which makes up the H.E.A.R.T. acronym. Our coaches teach structured, defensively focused, fast-paced, fundamental basketball.

Have any of your players been with you since the beginning?

Athens McGillis and Brycen Johnson began playing up a grade on the 2025 team. In 2020 Athens and Brycen moved back to their true grade, 2026 8th grade.

What are you looking for in players?

We are looking to develop our players so they fit into our system and so they can play at the highest level of high school and college basketball. We don’t recruit or fly kids in across the nation, we focus on the talent that exists in our backyard and work to compete on a regional and national stage.

Roster

5’9 PG/SG Athens McGillis

One of the top shooters in the class with ability to hit catch and shoot and of the bounce threes at a high rate. Very tough on ball defender with great court vision and passing ability. He has a very high IQ and a desire for high competition and passion to shine in big moments. Top combo guard in the region and Ohio.

5’8 SG Jordan Duncan

Super athletic, 3-level scorer, attacks the basket and finishes drives. Explosive 1st step, plays passing lanes defensively. One of the top scorers in Cincinnati. Not returning to All H.E.A.R.T. and will play for Indiana Elite in 2022.

6’3 PF Cooper McCutchan

He rebounds above average due to his long arms, high vertical leap and knack for the ball. He blocks shots at a high rate and is an elite scorer in the paint and 15 feet out.

5’8 G Tyson Davis

Tyson has speed, strength, and aggressiveness is unmatched by any player in the 2026 class in the area. He is explosive on defense and offense and is still in the early stages of developing his game.

5’2 SG Brycen Johnson

One of the top three-point shooters on the team with a high IQ for the game. Don’t let his size fool you, his grit is unmatched by any player he goes up against and he knows how to use his high-level skill to his advantage.

5’8 W Ryan Burns

Super athletic swingman with a high vertical who is dunking in 8th grade. He has a radar for playing defense in the passing lanes and stealing the ball. With his long arms and unselfish style of play Ryan is a contributor and a lockdown defender.

5’8 SF Daniel Vollmer

Daniel is not a basketball player but a highly recruited LaCrosse and Football player. We used his athleticism and strength to our advantage to help rebound and play defense. For most of the season Daniel was matched up against 6’2″ to 6′-5″ centers and he can hold his own.

6’1 PF Mike Branch

Jumps out of the gym with a 38 inch vertical in 8th grade weighing upwards of 190+ pounds. Dunked as a 7th grader. Has a football body with basketball skills. Super athletic and can defend anyone with the ability to finish around the basket.

What are some things as a coach you are learning with this group

“As a coach, I was was very impressed with our teams ability to buy into our system of play and adapt to my style of coaching. I have coached for 25+ years at all levels, and I don’t think I have had a more athletically talented basketball team. Our All H.E.A.R.T. 2025 team helped make a name for our program, and the popularity of this team locally and regionally, and with Athens McGillis and Brycen Johnson moving to their true grade, they were able to help me lead the rest of our core group of players to a very successful season. Above all else the ability of our boys to buy in to TEAM DEFENSIVELY focused basketball was key. What I learned is that if you have a group of boys who have one mission, the same goals, and a passion and drive to compete, anything is possible. My fear initially was selfishness and “me before we”, but this was not the case with this group. We were undersized but smart and competed against the Blue Chips, Chris Paul, and other national teams and competed.”
