We’ll look at five players from each area and position that coaches at all levels looking for a player should keep an eye out for. Here’s five 2022 wings in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia that need more love.
Cam’Ron Kearney | 6’5” | Salem (VB)
One of the more talented players in the 757, Kearney has the blend of size, athleticism and skill set that will allow him to flourish at the next level as he continues to improve. He’s a versatile wing that has improved as a shot maker and can knock it down off the catch, he can slash and is a big time athletic finisher at the rim and he has tons of potential on the defensive end too.
Georges Archer Georges Archer 6'4" | SF Princess Anne | 2022 State VA | 6’5” | Princess Anne
Archer is another player that has improved a lot since his freshman year, as he has a great frame and plays with a good motor allowing him to put up big numbers for his PA group. The 6’5” wing is long and super bouncy around the rim, he can catch and shoot from deep and he relentlessly attacks on the offensive end of the floor putting pressure on the defense consistently.
Kendon Peebles Kendon Peebles 6'4" | SF Catholic | 2022 State VA | 6’4” | Catholic
Peebles is one of the better two way wings in the 757, as he has a great motor and takes pride on being a stopper while also being a menace in transition as well. He’s a good athlete with very long arms, he never gives up on a play on either side of the ball and he’s able to score it efficiently by picking his spots and making shots from multiple levels.
Chris Brown Chris Brown 6'5" | SG Peninsula Catholic | 2022 State VA | 6’3” | Peninsula Catholic
Another two way stopper, Brown has one of the best resumes of anyone in the 757 and has been a huge part of PC becoming a very formidable team in Hampton Roads. He’s a player who can play on or off the basketball and has really improved as a shot maker from multiple levels, he’s an explosive athlete who can meet guys at the rim and lock up on the perimeter and he plays with good energy every time he’s on the floor.
Jayden Evans Jayden Evans 6'5" | SF Walsingham | 2022 State VA | 6’5” | Hampton Christian
When it comes to a player with a lot of upside, there aren’t many that have more than Evans who is just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward. He has a great frame with long arms and he runs and moves very well, he has unlimited potential on the defensive end and he continues to improve as a slasher and a shot maker as well.
