The event features teams from Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Georgia and Massachusetts, and has a host of nationally ranked players as well as underrated guys who will get a chance to prove themselves.
We will preview the event in a number of ways, including some of the committed players, available 2022 prospects and some of the top 2023 prospects in the event.
Here’s a look at part one of the available 2022 players from North Carolina.
You can watch the entire event this weekend here on the CBG Live Network.
Shane Peterson Shane Peterson 6'0" | CG The Burlington School | 2022 State NC | 6’2” WG | Burlington School
Peterson is the senior leader on a very talented young Burlington School team, and he’s also one of the top shooters in North Carolina. The 6’2” wing knows his role and does it well as he moves well off the ball and can make shots coming off of screens, he plays with a high motor and makes the gritty winning plays and he’s a natural leader who is always talking and doing whatever it takes to help his team win.
Jacob Cooper | 5’9” PG | Combine Post Grad
Cooper is one of the most slept on available lead guards on the east coast, and once you get past his size and see how skilled and poised he is you find out that he can hoop with the best of them. The 5’9” lead guard is a smooth operator who makes everything look so easy as he can create shots for himself and score it from all over the floor, he has terrific feel and IQ and can get others involved and he’s a tough competitor who just flat out wins.
AJ Smith AJ Smith 6'4" | CG Combine Academy | 2022 State NC | 6’6” F | Combine Post Grad
Smith is one of a number of forwards on Combine who is way under the radar, as he has a mix of skill and athleticism that all translates to the next level. He can play well above the rim when he gets downhill and he rebounds against guys much bigger than him, he can knock down shots from deep and he can switch and guard multiple positions as well.
Jayson Harris | 6’8” PF | Combine Post Grad
Harris is the workhorse in the paint for this Combine team as the VA native brings a mix of skill, brute force and gritty production to his group. He’s very underrated as a versatile big as he can step out and play on the perimeter but he can also post up and score in the paint, he rebounds well on both ends of the floor and he is productive across the board as a big man.
Kaden Warner Kaden Warner 6'0" | CG St Joseph Catholic | 2022 State OH | 6’0” PG | Winston Salem Christian Prep
Warner is about as underrated and under recruited as they come as he’s a walking bucket who has been putting up huge numbers for his team this year. He’s a highly skilled and shifty guard who can create space and make shots from multiple levels, he gets hot quickly and can take over games with his scoring ability and he’s a capable playmaker who is unselfish as well.
Po’Boigh King Po’Boigh King 6'4" | CG Word of God | 2022 State NC | 6’4” WF | Word of God
King has quietly been one of the top players in North Carolina over the past couple of seasons, and he’s the type of player that a lot of coaches will be kicking themselves that they didn’t recruit. The 6’4” wing is a knock down shooter from deep with great form and a quick release, he stays shot ready and can attack closeouts and finish at the rim and he has the ability to make tough shots in the midrange as well.
