Although the team isn’t winning as much as they should they have been in a position to win a few games, at that partly to Lam play. The Bears did get a win this last week versus Omaha Northwest where the senior racked up 25 points and 8 rebounds. A lot of points and rebounds but not as much as the game before where Lam poured in 30 points and 10 rebounds. The last game the Bears played was against the defending champs Millard North where the results weren’t in their favor. Lam did hold his own against the number 2 player in the state with a stat line of 21 points 8 rebounds and 2 assists. On the season the senior is averaging 21 points per game and 8 rebounds. The next game is against the 4-4 Omaha South which can be a dominant game as Lam size towers over a lot of the Packer players.
Kamari Moore Kamari Moore 6'1" | PG Norfolk | 2022 State NE | 6’1 G | Norfolk /Team Factory 17U Gold
Although he plays point guard Kamari is a scorer. Averaging 17.5 points per game this season, the senior is required to produce a lot of the offense for his team. He also averages 8 rebounds per game which is a lot for someone who is positioned outside the paint. His first game of the week was against North Platte where the Panthers was able to get their first win and Moore was able to score 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assist. The next game against a good Grand island team wasn’t so great for the senior, just scoring 6 points but snagging 6 rebounds. The thing I like bout this kid is his ability to bounce back and that’s what he did the following game racking up 22 points and 10 rebounds in what was a loss against Columbus but still a solid game by the senior. Kamari has scored over 20 points this season in all his games but 2 games. With the next game coming against Omaha North I look to see if the senior can drop 20 points again against a good backcourt the Vikings have.
PJ Davis PJ Davis 6'2" | SG Omaha Central | 2022 State NE | 6’2 G | Omaha Central/OSA 17U 3SSB
The senior guard is a very integrated part of the early success the Eagles have had this season. He is averaging 12.5 points per game, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals for the season, but that doesn’t speak to the leadership he brings on the floor. Before the start of the Metro Holiday Tournament, the Eagles got a quality win against the Vikings. The senior helped with 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. In the first game of the Holiday Tournament Davis and Eagles got their revenge against the Titans who they lost to a week before. Davis had 10 points and 3 rebounds. Following a win against Papillion-LaVista South, the Eagle was able to take down a powerful Creighton Prep team, in which Davis was able to score 11 points, 2 rebounds, and dropped 5 dimes to add to the stat line. The final game of the week was against the number 1 team in the tourney Bellevue West, where they suffered their second loss of the season. Davis tried very hard to keep his team in the game dropping 23 points and 4 assists in the loss. The eagles do have a bounce-back game against Burke that should get them back on the winning side and give Davis a chance to continue his recent scoring outpour.
CJ Mitchell CJ Mitchell 5'10" | PG Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE | 5’10 G | Omaha Westside/OSA 3SSB 15U
The sophomore has been a spark plug for the Warriors this season and should make a lot of fans anxious for the future. Off the bench, the guard is averaging 8 points per game and 2 rebs. Finding his way on a roster that is filled with a plethora of talent from upperclassmen to underclassmen that are the same age as him. With all those obstacles the sophomore is still making a name for himself. The last few games this past week tell the potential that the Warriors are looking for in the sophomore. In the Holiday Tournament, CJ scored 9 points against Benson high school as the Warriors runs through the Bunnies in the first round. The next round was against Elkhorn South and the sophomore goes off for 15 points with 2 3pt made off the bench as the Warriors made it to the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Finals, the Warriors faced the defending champs in a great game where they came out winners. With the help of CJ’s 14 points and 6 rebounds, the sophomore and Warriors punched their ticket to the Finals who they will have a tough match against another team that made it to the State Finals last season, Bellevue West.
Luke Lindenmeyer Luke Lindenmeyer 6'4" | SF Papillion-LaVista | 2022 State NE | 6’4 F | Papillion LaVista South/OSA Crusaders 16u Adidas 3SSB
Luke has been having a good season so far averaging 15 points per game this season and scoring double digits in all his games this season except one. This past week Luke has been a force for the Monarchs as they were able to pick up a couple of wins before losing in the Tournament to Millard North. In the game against Omaha Northwest, Luke was able to score 13 points and snagged 10 rebounds as he recorded a double-double in the win. The next game he was able to notch another double-double both season-high 23 points and 16 rebounds as lead monarchs to win over Omaha North. The last game against Millard North was a tough matchup against Green as Luke was only able to score 8 points and 5 rebounds. Although his last game was some of his season lows, I feel like, with this bad game out the way, we as fans are going to see more 20 plus games out of the senior the rest of the season.
