High school basketball in Michigan is full of great young men that have the potential to be societal leaders and difference makers in their own way. Let’s look at a few of the seniors that, as they soon embark on the next chapter of their life, have the potential to make a difference for generations to come.
Ashton Atwater Ashton Atwater 6'0" | CG Otsego | 2022 State MI (CG, Otsego)
Atwater has the unique ability to see that he’s setting an example for the people co.i g up behind them. I’ve seen him first hand set Ann example for younger players, give them confidence, and encourage them to keep striving for greatness. I’m confident that he’ll do this off the court as well and make a huge in difference in a lot of lives.
Elvis Machul Jr. (PG, Saginaw Arthur Hill)
Machul Jr. is your classic example of a true leader. He welcomes the responsibility of having others follow his lead, both in basketball and otherwise. Machul Jr. doesn’t let those around him fail. He gives others credit for success and takes the heat off of them in tough times.
Brady Titus Brady Titus 5'10" | PG Tri-Unity Christian | 2022 State MI (PG, Tri-Unity Christian)
Any person that feels like the odds are stacked against them can turn to Titus for motivation. This young man has fought through the doubters and become one of the best players in the state. All the while, he carried himself with pure class and dignity.
Kyler Vanderjagt Kyler Vanderjagt 6'4" | 195 lbs | SF Northview | 2022 State MI (SG, Northview)
Vanderjagt is the type of star athlete that everyone can admire. He has a refreshing exuberance both on and off the court. Vanderjagt is as respectful as they come and doesn’t hide the fact that he wants the best for the people around him. Future leaders like him bode well for what’s to come in our society.
Chansey Willis Chansey Willis 6'2" | PG Detroit King | 2022 State MI (PG, Detroit King)
Willis is a testament to where hard work and confidence can take you. His never surrender approach has taken him to the top of high school basketball in Michigan. I have no doubt that Willis will maintain this approach and it will continue to lead him to great accomplishments that make a difference for others.
