Senior Standout
Colin McKenzie Colin McKenzie 6'5" | SG First Baptist | 2022 State SC really came to play today for the Hurricanes. McKenzie an UNSIGNED SENIOR finished with 23 points in the victory while hitting on 4 three pointers. Colin was able to knockdown some timely shots in the win. McKenzie and the Hurricanes will be one of the teams in SCISA Class 3A at this time next month in Sumter for the State Tourney.
Juniors Galore
The Underclassmen here today were plenty that’s for sure. Coen Carr Coen Carr 6'4" | SF Dutchtown | 2023 State #77 Nation GA , Khalil Arnold Khalil Arnold 6'2" | CG Legacy Early College | 2023 State SC and Khali Horton Khali Horton 6'9" | SF Keystone Academy | 2023 State PA all stood out in performance. Carr is a ULTRA athletic forward for the Lions. Coen was able to flush down a few dunks today when he was not stalking the baseline. Coen excels in the transition and plays every second of the game to the fullest with his GREAT MOTOR.
Arnold came off the bench today as the 6th man and finished with 12 points. Khalil can knockdown the 3-ball, pop off screens or slash to the cup. He does a good job of staying active away from the ball at all times.
Horton was able to play inside-out on the floor today from the forward. Khali connected on some perimeter jumpers when he wasn’t posting up down on the block. He at times will bring the ball up the floor and handle it in transition. Horton finished with 8 points in the loss.
Foor Has Solid Floor Game
Matty Foor Matty Foor 6'1" | PG First Baptist | 2023 State SC brings a confidence to the floor that you can’t teach at times. Foor was able to drive the baseline and finish at the rack today on a few occasions. Foor took a big charge late in the game to secure the victory for the Hurricanes. Matty finished with 15 points in the win over the Lions. He really brings a competitive edge to the Hurricanes roster.
Versatile Senior
Zaylan Chaney Zaylan Chaney 6'7" | SF Legacy Early College | 2022 State SC has a thicker frame and the ability to play multiple positions on the floor. Chaney runs the floor like a guard, defends out on the perimeter, takes charges when he’s not driving the ball downhill to the basket. He is a mismatch guy at the next level with his versatility.
