Daylon Gonzales is one of those players that you’d love to play with but would absolutely hate to play against. This kid is everywhere, he’s all over the court playing his hardest and making his presence felt on both ends of the court, whether he’s scoring, rebounding, facilitating, forcing a turnover, contesting a shot, or pushing the pace in transition. During San Antonio McCollum’s final game of the 2021 season, Daylon went crazy and dropped a mean 28 points to lead the Cowboys to a 76-65 victory over the Harlandale Indians, winning their first game of district play. The senior point guard showed off his fast-twitch ball skills, speediness in the open floor, elite court vision, accuracy, and ability to take over a game. Gonzales was easily the fastest and quickest player out there with and without the ball, which allowed him to penetrate the lane at will, either converting the shot inside or picking up the foul call. Daylon’s in and out crossover was terrific and often created the separation or threw the defense off balance giving him the option to pill-up or attack. Daylon Gonzales was a true playmaker that put on a show.
Alex Bossinakis Alex Bossinakis 6'2" | PG Fort Worth Christian | 2022 State TX | Point Guard | Fort Worth Christian School | C/o ’22
Alex Bossinakis Alex Bossinakis 6'2" | PG Fort Worth Christian | 2022 State TX put up a jaw-dropping performance last month in a hard-fought comeback win over California’s Arcadia Apaches. Bossinakis went off for an incredible 39 points, leading the Cardinals into the semi-finals round of the 2021 Tarkanian Classic. This top-notch senior Point Guard pulled up unconsciously, shooting very smooth and fluid stepback jumpers from another area code. A dynamic bucket getter off the dribble who shot it at will both inside and outside the arc, scoring without the need of any screens to get him open. The footwork and ball-handling Alex showcased were fantastic, breaking ankles and sending defenders flying out of position. Alex Bossinakis Alex Bossinakis 6'2" | PG Fort Worth Christian | 2022 State TX has developed his game to star status. When it comes to skills, he’s one of the most skilled prospects you’ll find in Fort Worth.
Grayson Price | Guard | Keller HS | C/o ’22
Grayson Price is a 6-foot sharpshooting Combo Guard for the star-studded Keller Indians. Price has been a remarkable asset for the Indians this season as a go-to marksman from deep. Not only is he leading his team in three-pointers made and attempted, but he’s also on the verge of doubling his overall number of makes from his junior year halfway through this season, currently sitting at 56. Price nailed the bulk of his threes throughout December, drilling a long-range bomb in each game except for two, giving him a total of 38 in that month alone. At the end of the 2021 year Price was at his best, producing several outstanding performances such as a season-high 31 point outing against Mansfield Summit, a superb shooting display versus South Grand Prairie going 7-of-14 from deep, followed by 6-of-13 trays made against the Birdville Hawks in back-to-back games. Grayson Price has consistently shown that he’s everything a coach could possibly want in in their shooting specialist, he loves the three-ball, he already displays deep college range, he can shoot it on the pull-up, off the catch, when coming around a screen, while spotting up, while on the move, and while contested, you name it, Grayson can do it.
Tyce Gentry Tyce Gentry 6'1" | SG Brock | 2022 State TX | Shooting Guard | C/o ’22
Tyce Gentry Tyce Gentry 6'1" | SG Brock | 2022 State TX has got to be the most underhyped and underrated shooting marksman in the entire state of Texas. On consecutive days in the previous month, Gentry accumulated season highs of 32 and 33 points, helping the Brock Eagles to a 5-0 record that weekend. Tyce proved to be a three-level scoring assassin that couldn’t be contained, picking and choosing his spots incredibly well. The elite Brock prospect effortlessly attacked openings and closeouts before immediately going into his shooting motion whether the helpside defender stepped up to contest or not. Anytime a defense didn’t rotate properly Gentry didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger, often hitting three-pointers from 5 or 6 feet beyond the arc. Great intangibles, his ability to get himself out of tough situations by passing and relocating were marvelous and continuously gave Tyce separation or left him wide open from outside. Gentry also did a phenomenal job of using angles and his body as an advantage in the mid-range. Saying this kid was on fire is an understatement, it seemed like every shot he put up went in his favor. It didn’t matter if there was a hand in his face, if he was off-balance, or if he was fouled hard getting knocked down to the ground, he still converted the shot. Tyce Gentry Tyce Gentry 6'1" | SG Brock | 2022 State TX was a mad man out there, completely outplaying his competition with a true competitive mentality, it was as if he wanted to win more than anyone else on the floor.
R.J. Chatman R.J. Chatman 5'10" | PG Sachse | 2023 State TX | Point Guard | Sachse HS | C/o ’23
R.J. Chatman R.J. Chatman 5'10" | PG Sachse | 2023 State TX was highly impressive at the GISD tournament early in December when he put up a remarkable 31 point, 5 assist, 5 rebound showing. Chatman’s long-distance shooting prowess, quick trigger release, crafty ankle breaking footwork, and lethal open court speed and quickness were at their best and set him apart from any other player in the building. Relentless three-level playmaker and shot creator off the dribble, his ability to knock down pull-up jumpers from every inch of the floor was impressive and a thing of beauty. Anytime Chatman attacked the hole with a full head of steam, he sliced right through the defense with the determination to finish at the rim one way or another. R.J. Chatman R.J. Chatman 5'10" | PG Sachse | 2023 State TX is at the top of my list for must-see prospects in the state, he’s definitely one of the most underrecruited players in the nation.
