Jake Lemelman Jake Lemelman 6'3" | CG MacDuffie | 2024 State NLG , Newton South, Class 2024, Position G
The lefty guard Jake Lemelman Jake Lemelman 6'3" | CG MacDuffie | 2024 State NLG is one of the top guards, and shooters in the DCL. Jake is a playmaker, and a scorer. Jake is a high level shooter. Newton south is now 10-3 and has clinched a spot in the MIAA tournament. Jake is averaging over 20 points a game this season. Jake had 6 threes in a game this season against Concord, and had 30 points against Lincoln Sudbury. Jake has unlimited shooting range, and hits tough shots, even with high pressure from opposing defenses. I like that Jake plays with confidence, and even if he is not shooting well, he can still impact the game. Jake is not just a shooter, as he has strong finishing moves at the rim. Jake has a high basketball IQ, and he knows how to read the defense. He knows when to drive to the basket when they close out to hard, and when to pull up and shoot. It is only a matter of time before Jake get’s many college offers.
Itai Alinsky, Newton South, Class 2022, HT 6’6, position PF
He we look at another player making a big impact for the 10-3 Newton South Lions. Itai is a double machine, and is putting up big numbers this season. Itai has had games with stat lines of 24 points, and 12 rebounds, and another notable stat line of 27 points and 16 rebounds. Itai is a strong built. He can stretch the floor with how well he can handle the ball, and move for his size. Itai can be a paint protector on defense, and has strong moves, and a good touch down low. Itai also rebounds the ball very well on the offensive and defensive ends. Itai can also be a slasher out on the wing. Itai’s combination of strength, size, and skills makes him a very tough player to guard. Itai has the game to play at the college level, and will fit well into what ever college program he plays on.
Ben Brown, Concord-Carlisle, Position PF, Class 2023, HT 6’5
In a recent game Ben had 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 blocks. He also had a game with 15 rebounds. Ben has wide range of skills. Ben can be a paint protector, and moves well for his size. Ben is a good shot blocker, and when he does not block the shot, he still makes it difficult for the offense. Ben can play down low in the post, and outside on the wing as well. Ben is a high motor player, who is proving he can play at the next level.
Connor Tran, Boston Latin, Class 2023, position SF
Boston Latin recently came off a long break due to Covid-19. Connor came back in one game and had 4 three pointers. Connor is a small forward who can stretch out the floor with his shooting, and also attack the rim. Connor is a hard working player, who can make players around him better.
Kyle O’Connell, Lincoln-Sudbury, Position SG, SF, HT 6’6, class 2022
Kyle might be one of the most versatile playmakers in the DCl. Kyle is a high impact player for the Lincoln-Sudbury team, and is putting up big numbers. Against Waltham he had 22 points and 5 rebounds. Kyle is able to stretch the floor with his high level shooting. He has guards skills, and can score off the dribble, and finish at the rim. Kyle is also a paint protector, and you will see him play above the rim, and throw down big dunks. Kyle can guard 1 through 5 on defense. Kyle has a good skill set for the college level.
